I have to vote for pre L.A.T.E. I just don't like the new ending as much as before. It just doesn't have the same to me anymore. But it's still a great song either way.

I like the LATE version; only because they finally recorded it for an album. It gets the song to the masses. I understand your feelings on the ending, but that's how age and growth can sometimes make things new.

I'm going pre. I was kinda caught off gaurd when I heard the new ending. I'm used to it now, but I'll always like the old one better.

Definitely the old version, I couldn't believe me ears when I heard the Light version for the first time.

Is it sad that I don't even remember what the old version sounds like? It's been a long time and my memory is like swiss cheese. I feel old. Haha.

New version all the way! The old ending's nice, but the new ending is my favorite part of the entire song! Best musical change since "Paranoid Android" by Radiohead.
"It's just a thunderstorm, Baby there's nothing you should fear, The sky is broken. Raindrops on my window pane, Like music to my ears, It's wide open. If the clouds turn brighter days, Into a more minor refrain its still a song. We can stand out in this storm, And fill this bottle full of rain and sing along."
I don't care how cheesy they are, these are right up there with Scarecrow, Light At The End, and Pink Belly as my favorite Rustic lyrics of all time. Plus, the old version doesn't have the cheesy Hey-Jude ripoff ending that's the most fun thing to sing along to I've ever heard. Seriously, my favorite concert moment of all time (not even just rustic concert moment, I'm talking any single concert I've been to my entire life) was when I was in Monument Square in July and was singing along to that section of the new RLW with 6000 other Mainers, rustic fans old and new. It was just the most amazing moment ever, as cheesy as it is.
So, in conclusion, I voted for the new version :-P

I wasn't terribly familiar with the song til the new one, and so I voted for new ending. I too like the transition as well as the lyrics. I also like how Spencer sings too and the difference in their voices on it makes a cool combination.
