Coming East on 90 will be just fine at that hour. The nasty traffic will be heading away from Boston during rush hour, so even heading West on 90 at 5pm is ok.
There's a couple street level parking lots down in that area for those of you driving in. If you find a metered spot, I believe one does not have to pay past 8pm.
Otherwise for parking, there's a couple lots over on Commercial st by the North End. From there its a 10-15 min. walk to the wharf.
Have a good time everyone!

I always park at the Riverside T stop and then just ride on in. It's only $3 a day to park and I don't have to drive in Boston.

I'm thinking I'll take the Lynn Fells Parkway stop on the T (the northern most stop) and ride in early. Anyone want to meet up at a bar beforehand? Anyone know of a good one?

Yep.. It's about 2.5 hours from Albany, 3 from 'Toga with light traffic. I know of this one place you can park without a permit/meter/time limit and no alternating.. it's a bit on the sketchy side and out of the way, but nice to just drop the car off for the trip. It's close to a pub (Squealing Pig) near my old place, so I figure I'll head there and then catch the T in later on. I'd be down for catching a drink, but I won't be anywhere close til boarding.. also I'm dragging 2 friends along in addition to my former roommate, so I'll have my hands full with them. it's not definite at all, but it makes sense in my head if anyone wants to swap cell #s just drop me a PM, it'd be cool to at least link up at the show if not before hand.

It seems like upstate, NY will be well represented (at least two). I'll be wearing my pitiful Mets hat.
I haven't been this excited about a show in a long, long time.

I'm coming in with ~15 or so people. Should be a blast. I've got a soccer game before hand but then plan on meeting up at sissy K's to suck down some sweet dollar drafts before I get molested by 8$ beers on the boat. I also plan on bringing some stuff to patch the SBD. No chance I'd bring my full Aud rig on this disaster!

Sissy K's (aforementioned) is great for on-the-cheap beers. Hong Kong is next door for inexpensive Chinese food. If you goto Union St. (just off Fanueil Hall/Quincy Market area, marked at the beginning of the street by a McDonald's) you can get great bar food at The Blackstone Grill, good selection of beers and scotch. Blackstone has been my favorite bar down there for the last 5 years. Highly reccomend.

I'll be wearing a white No Ma'am t-shirt (yes it's from Married with Children) and would be down for meeting up to get a beer before/after. Hit me up with a PM to get my cell number.

I'm still fighting a raging hangover--but I've arisen from the dead (I think?) to give my review of the awesome cruise show last night... We arrived at Long Wharf a bit past nine, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the boat was larger than I'd expected, and already held a good-sized crowd on the decks. There were three decks--the lower deck held the bar, middle deck held the band setup inside and an open stern area, and the top was an open deck with a captain's wheelhouse. The boat was underway right on schedule, the night was clear and warm and the views of the Boston skyline were spectacular. The band started up about a half hour later. People were looking in through the windows on the stern, people were crammed up near the band (including me ;D), people were standing in doorways--it was sardine city. I also heard they had speakers set up on the upper deck so those who stayed outside could hear loud and clear. I had a fairly decent view of Dave and Jon, and every now and then a tiny glimpse of the horn section--I had this horrible moment where I wasn't even sure if Spence was there because I couldn't see him at all, but once they started playing, I heard him and all was well. ;D The string section was also present and rockin'. I can give you what I remember for the set list, but it's not in order because I suck at remembering these things even when I'm not three sheets to the wind, which I was (the martinis at dinner were too good). Sector Z Oxygen Love Underground Cmon Carsick Troublesome Iron Boots Crash Landing Rock Like War Smoke/Kashmir Combustible Sugarcoat Gas on Skin Happy Hardest Way Possible Light At the End Letter to the Prez I'm pretty sure there were a few more, but I can't recall--someone refresh my memory? Rustic was on fire...the band nearly blew the upper deck off the boat with Combustible...holy shit. Made the hair on my arms stand up....smokin'!!!! And throughout the show, the crowd in front of the band was bouncing so hard that the entire floor was flexing under my feet. We could have fallen in a heap of twisted metal and bodies to the deck below, and ya know, I don't think we woulda cared. LOL A couple of times, the boat caught a wake that sent everyone weaving--band and audience included--but let me tell ya, you haven't seen talent until you've seen someone play bass without missing a beat while trying to keep their balance on a rocking boat. Anyhoo, it was a fantastic show, and I'm one happy camper today, although I'm sporting a purple big toe because a girl in front of me decided that pogoing sounded like a great idea, and stupid me, I forgot to wear my steel-toed boots. All worth it, tho. Allllll worth it. Now, it is my mission to find pizza. Over and out. Donna P.S. I don't have any pics...did anyone snap some? If so, I'd love to see them!

Great review Donna, it was an amazing show and an absolute blast. This was absolutely my favorite Rustic show to date. My girlfriend and I met a lot of great people from all over the northeast. We were directly in front of Jon. If this show happens again next summer it will certainly be a must see.
Here's the setlist from the stage:
Sector Z Oxygen Carsick Underground Hardest Iron Sugarcoat Crash Landing Happy Combustible C'Mon Gas Troublesome Smoke/Kashmir Light
encore:
? (a song not on the setlist, I can't remember or don't know what it was) Rock Like (Jon immediately ran off stage to the nearest bathroom or deck) Prez
Again, an amazing show with great people.
I also can't get over the strings. They are such a great addition.
I do think the Bermuda Triangles should have made an appearance at this one.

I do think the Bermuda Triangles should have made an appearance at this one. What with being on a boat and all it would have only been appropriate. Still so bummed I couldn't make this show but big thanks to Donna for the great rundown and to Matt for the complete setlist. From the sounds of things it was a fantastic night.

I didn't bother taking more than a few pictures, most of which didn't come out. The boat was absolutely packed, the main floor's ceiling was really low, and the band was not elevated. All of which made for a loud, uncomfortable experience unless you got a good spot, I suppose.
I made my way to the bow before they began and ended up spending most of the cruise there, except for an attempt to go inside for a spot, and once more for a beer run..
the weather worked out excellently, no rain no storms.. it was a beautiful night all in all and the air felt great. I was able to hear pretty well, was hanging out right outside the door behind them. With friends in tow and some socializing out front I didn't pay full attention but it made for a spectacular environment and ambiance.
It was a pleasure meet some people and put some faces with names once again, and many thanks to Farley for an assist on some directions!
Again.. pics suck, I'll post one up, it was pointless though. I got 2 videos I think, C'mon and History Crush, which is the missing song from your encore, Matt.
I asked (a little too late) to hear Pop Trash for my birthday, but the boat was heading back and the crew were likely looking to start breaking things down, though Dave sang me a quick "happy birthday" instead! I got the paper plate that was blocking the doorway behind the horns signed by most of the guys and i think a few random people too..
all in all a pretty excellent birthday!

finally.. I have like no upload bandwidth.. not much to see, but good sound. C'mon - www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6iwoabmCmAHistory Crush - www.youtube.com/watch?v=SS9kIhiVivsedit: Thanks for the set list and recaps.. I'll try to get some updates done on r-o this week. One minor story/adjustment is Carsick should be marked with a * or corrected as Seasick.. they are just too clever

Thanks for posting those Jeff! It really brings it back!!! They sounded sooooooo good! And happy birthday! Oswegomatt...you must have been somewhere in front of me....I was a few people deep in front of Jon. I was looking for a Mets hat, but man, it was nearly impossible to find anyone in that crowd. And there were lots of hats.

Excellent work on the videos Jeff, great sound and everything. Sorry you got stuck out on the deck for most of the show, although I'm sure it was a vantage point you've probably never had before. Anyways, kick-ass show, I felt that most everyone in the crowd were rustic fans and actually knew what was going on--everyone seemed to be singing along to every song.

Just reiterating what everyone else has already said. Definitely the best Rustic show I've been to. No tape unfortunately because there were no outputs available on the small ass board they were using after they ran all the speakers that were all over the boat.

EWP Try using this site photobucket.com/Once you load up a photo you can create folds and turn public and private settings on and off. Just copy the IMG Code into your message posting. You might want to preview before you post to make sure the layout works. I know that I've posted some large photos in the past. Or you can link your public album to the posting instead. Hope this helps
