First 18+ show of the reunion.
8:00pm - Asylum - 121 Center Street, Portland ME
For you 18+ers out there, as well as any other lucky folks headed to the Sunday show, get to know who else from around these parts will be there. Then come back after the insane Rustic weekend is over to hear how it went.
(for anyone still looking for tickets, I just had a pair fall back into my lap. Shoot me a PM if you want'em)

My wife (Melissa) and i will be at the Sunday Asylum show. We missed out on tickets for Saturday but we are going to the patio show tomorrow and Sunday will be our 25th show, well, her 25th and my 24th show. We saw both Bull Moose shows and i even got a few songs (Gas On Skin, Hardest & Crash Landing) on video with my digital camera. Who's taping the patio shows or the Asylum shows? I can get a few songs at Asylum Sunday. I'll be the guy center stage in the front row.

Someone identified themselves, I think Darek, as being the tall guy with a redsox hat. Friday I noticed about 200 sox hats haha! Tonight anyone who wants to say Hi can find me wearing a blue shirt that says "you deserve a good paddling". It should be the only one there. So ready!

yeah, I actually mentioned to "Cherry" when I ran into her on Saturday that the Redsox hat thing was probably the lamest and least helpful wardrobe description ever!
Hope ya'll had a blast last night!

yeah, I actually mentioned to "Cherry" when I ran into her on Saturday that that the Redsox hat thing was probably the lamest and least helpful wardrobe description ever! Yeah, that's kind of weak up north, but if you wore it down here in Richmond VA, it would be you and me, buddy. People around here tend to follow the Orioles or the Braves (Baltimore's only 3 hours away, and the Braves have their AAA team here). As somewhat funny baseball-related aside, I had this old Yankees hat that I bought as a joke and wear when I'm painting and stuff (don't want to mess up the nice Sox cap). Anyway, one time I wore it to Lowe's when I had to rush there in a hurry during the middle of some work I was doing. As I was standing in an aisle, some old guy came shuffling up to me and said, "The Yankees suck! This is a real team." He pointed at his t-shirt which said Brooklyn Dodgers on it, then laughed and shuffled away. But anyway, back on topic. How was the Sunday show? Any surprises in the setlist?

Absolutely brilliant show, the crowd was just full of energy, and it felt amazing to be a part of it.
This is the setlist as I remembered it. I can't remember the exact order all of these were played in, but at least all the songs are right:
Combustible Hardest Way Possible Oxygen C'mon Gas on Skin Man Without a Mouth Love Underground Troublesome Feast or Famine Carsick About a Kid Crash Landing Girl Germs Iron Boots Carnival Rock Like War
Encore: *can't remember what, but they played something before Simple* Simple Song Check Daryl Light at the End
Again, the order is horribly off and I'm sure that I forgot a song or two, so feel free to correct me if you were there. It was an absolutely kick-ass show though, they played absolutely everything I could possibly imagine. Probably the biggest surprise for me was either "About a Kid" or "Girl Germs."

i got some sweet photos of Sunday's Asylum show from my spot in the front row (once the cameraman went onstage for the encore) which reminds me, who was filming the show? there was a guy in the center in front of us and one off to the side. i need to set up some photo album at flicker or something if anyone is interested in seeing the photos. i also have a cool signed photo from "Live at Loon Mountain" in 1996. if anyone remembers that show, i got a wide shot of the band with Spence after he jumped off his keyboard and the photo of him just shows his legs sticking up. if you guys want to see some of my photos, let me know and i'll get off my fat ass and get it going. Asylum was awesome. show number 24 for me and the 4th show i got to for this month alone!!!

www.flickr.com/photos/billmissy/ is where the photos are at. there are only a few but i hope to update it with more when i get myself motivated. Loon Mountain was the show with 7 Mary 3, Thanks To Gravity, Kate Hanley and Rustic and a couple more. Royal Crowns i believe was the Pavilion show earlier that year of 1996.

Did anyone get an audio recording of this show? I would really love to hear it again. I was there and it has to be one of the top 3 concerts I've ever been to. Hands down.

i gotta dig out my archive photos in an old shoebox. i really don't miss film. the photos i took at Sunday's Asylum show was continuous shot of about 15 photos at a time. that's the only good way to get Dave with a good scream face unless you are a pro which i am not. at Loon Mountain, i had a cheap 35 mm and i didn't know that i got any killer shots until i got the pics in the mail.
