Okay dudes, here's the scoop.. I e-mailed the 'coordinator' so I know this info is accurate at least, spartan though it is.
It's a free show. I asked him about the DOORS time, but he hasn't gotten back to me yet. The ad says 9pm. There will be two start up bands. There's no way to guarantee being able to get in, but he said that the venue holds 1000.
What little info there is.. is available on going.com. You can also RSVP there, which I'm not sure will do much good but it might give you a better shot at getting in the door.
I will be there. If anyone wants to carpool from the Rochester area, or off of the highway on the way to Boston, I'd be happy to give you a ride. Be prepared to arrive early, leave late, and chip in for gas and tolls. Shoot me a note.

Rochester, New York, that is. I'm not sure if there are any other Rochesters, but I guess I'll cover myself.

The Roxy is decent sized, it's usually a club, but also a cool venue to see a show in. Like I said before, I live real close to the Roxy, so after I go home from work at 5, see my daughter for a bit, I'm heading over there to wait in line.
drop me an email if you are going and from the Boston area, or getting there uber-early. It'd be cool to meet some folks from the messageboard.

Barring any unforseen circumstances, I'll be recording this show. I'm bringing my laptop and *hopefully* plugging into the soundboard.

Hey Dev, if I can make the show, I'll try to bring a recorder, too. If the soundboard doesn't happen, you can use the recorder as an audio I/O. I'm only about 50% that I'm going, though.

That's right . Yet another free show. This Time for Boston.. Thanks to all who made it out to the last one in Portland.. I understand there was some confusion for some of you, and our sincere apologies go out to those of you who were treated un fairly at the door...
Well... heres a chance to make up for it in Boston... They are sponsering the event and it is free to all who register at their site.. registration is also free by the way, so you really can't lose..
Be quick about it, so you don't miss the boat! Can't wait to be back in Boston again!! See you all real soon...

The sound tech that was on the board when I got inside at 7 was really cool and really helpful. He had no problem whatsoever letting me plug into the board for Rustic's set.
Unfortunately, the port / patch that he plugged me into turned out to be just Dave's guitar, and nothing else. Crap.
Bummer.

D'oh. I saw you plugged in, so I left my recorder in the car. I'll try to tape the Higher Ground show next month.
The show was way earlier than I expected, RO on by 9:30. Did Pete Kilpatrick play first? I got there in the middle of the other opener.
It was interesting to hear them without the strings this time around. Spencer did a decent job playing their part at the end of Rock Like War (on keys). Letter to the President was cool, too. Everyone but Tony came out. Spence on acoustic guitar, Jon on bass, Ryan on keys, Noyes on uke, and JWard on xylaphone.

Pete Kilpatrick did play first.
That situation stinks. I was psyched to be able to tape the show to share w/ everyone, not to mention that the setlist was freakin' great. Lots of fun, but no recording.
Sorry everyone.

Yeah, I was prepared to drive home to CT really late. I was pleasantly surprised to have time to grab food after the show and still be home by 1.

One addition to the setlist:
They took a brief break to give away a steak dinner to "the first person with the shortest haircut." A bald dude named Blake won. No word on whether he ate it, or created a special shrine out of it in his basement.

dev, it's too bad it didn't work out but thanks a ton for the attempt! There's definitely been a shortage of recordings since RO has gotten back together, glad to see someone trying, maybe next time!

We'll be able to get one of these. Maybe one of the Stone Church shows.
