I've searched everywhere with no luck, so I guess it's time to ask you guys if you can help me out. A little backstory.. I used to have a huge collection of Portland Music Scene stuff... you name it, I was probably involved in it, but especially RO. My house flooded a few years ago, and I lost everything. While most of it is irreplaceable, maybe you all can help me with one thing. I really. Really. Really. Really. Want to listen to the songs on Spencer's 'Frankenstein Presents the Popsicko' again. It's one of my favorite CDs and I miss it. I'm also craving 'No More Noyes' from Volume Up, and I can't afford to pay 40 bucks for a 5 song CD. If any of you can help me out, I'd be forever thankful. I hate asking, but both of those are out of print, and one is virtually impossible to find. I just want to hear the tunes again. Singing it to myself just isn't the same! -Rachel PS: I in no way support the piracy of music, I've legitmately owned this stuff in the past. Stealing music is stealing from the band, yo. Don't do it!

I'd like to second Rachel's request for the Popsicko album. I was also in possession of it a bunch of years ago when my PC cd drive decided to fry and etch a two inch circle in the middle of it, rendering it useless. I miss it. There are a couple of torrents online, but none of them ever have any seeders.
Rachel, I'll see what I can do for you in terms of 'No More Noyes', give me a day or two.

I've pretty new to the Portland scene and I'm trying to get some of this older stuff. I keep hearing about this Popsicko album and I really want to hear it. I found one of the torrents Darek mentions a month ago, but no seeders. I can't find it for sale anywhere.
Never heard of No More Noyes song. Can I get a copy of that?
Also is Shish Boom Bam worth paying $200 for? I have all the other rustic albums, PSC albums, a couple Roktopus albums, "Open Letter To The Damned", and the last GFAC 2007. Is there anything else I should get.

while we're making mp3 pleas.... i thought of one. if anyone here knows how to do that awesome thing where you take one of the live recrdings from archive.org and make it so a shmuck like me can download it, like as has been done recently with cherry and about a kid, any chance we could get one of the recordings of revolution AM? never heard a live version of that one, i think it would be killer.

There is a lot of free software out there to convert the .shn files on archive.org to .mp3. I use Wavepad: www.nch.com.au/wavepad/index.htmlIt's as simple as opening the files you download and saving them as a different format.

Heavy Set is also on Volume Up. I checked ebay for a couple of months for that and got a good price, no luck with the popsicko though. Also, the former west coast band "popsicko" is not in any way related, so dont accidentally buy that one!

If you want a slightly more complicated program, I use Audacity and a combination of the programs they talk about in the archive.org FAQ section: Live Archive FAQ - www.archive.org/about/faqs.php#Live_Music_ArchiveAudacity - audacity.sourceforge.net/It's definitely worth figuring out, there's a lot of great stuff on the archive. For now, here's Revolution AM, there's an annoying buzzing all the way through but it's the only version I could track down quickly: Rustic Overtones - Revolution AM - Live at Lupo's Heartbreakers Hotel on 2001-05-04

I use an older version of dbpoweramp for .shn to mp3 that doesnt seem to have a trial period. I have no idea how it compares to the other programs but I think I still have the installer file and codec if anyone's interested. To use it you just right click downloaded .shn's and convert.
