On many threads here, people have lamented the lack of taping at the shows so far. I was poised to do something about that, but don't know if I'll be able to. I have the necessary equipment at work, but discovered I can't take it out for personal use.
That being said, I remember some posters who said they wanted to try but didn't have the gear or the know-how. I've only had a little experience, my background is more oriented toward photo and video, but I've been doing a good deal of audio lately, too.
You can now find equipment priced low enough to be reasonable, but still high enough quality to make it worth your effort. I've been using the Zoom H4 for recording (more voice and natural sound than music). It retails for $299. Zoom also now makes the H2 for $199. Both have good built in mics and USB connections. You can record right to a SD card. The big difference is the H4 has XLR audio inputs, so you can connect an external mic (or to a sound board).
If someone out there is really committed to taping some shows, the H2 would be a good (and easy) option. I'm thinking about getting one myself, but right now can't spend the cash, and don't know how many shows I can make. Until I can start taping on my own, I'm glad to lend any expertise I can.

In light of not being able to tape the Nov 23rd Asylum show I thought I'd revive this thread.
Is anyone out there trying to tape any shows? I'll keep trying to tape when I have the chances to. I don't think any of us die hard fans are looking to make a profit off of Rustic Live shows. I'd like to have them for archival sake.
I just e-mail WCYY to find out if they are taping the Holiday Bizarre Shows. It'd seem dumb of them not to tape these shows. I also asked the question if they'd rebroadcast the shows in the future. I'm asking everyone that reads this on the boards to e-mail them as well and ask the same question. "When are your rebroadcasting the Rustic Overtones' Holiday Bizarre Shows?" I think that if they get enough responses they might just broadcast a show just to shut us up.
Just some wishful thinking on my part. Don't be scared to share your taped music from any show you might have. Even if it's on song or the whole set list.

Never mind about WCYY... Here's the response I got from my e-mail to them.
"we did not record/broadcast any of their shows this year. it would be up to the band, and to our knowledge, it was never discussed. as far as the setlists, you'll have to contact the band directly about what the exact order of any of the songs were. they didn't provide us with any of that kind of information. sorry we couldn't be of anymore help."
