If any other cheap-skates like me stumble on a "Rooms By The Hour" grade motel in the area let me know, and I'll share what I find as well.

So, I'll probably be going alone, cuz.. my friends think that staying in town and celebrating at the same old bars will be more entertaining. Weirdos.
As I purchase my ticket, figured I'd see if anyone wants to party it up before/after/during. I'm definitely staying the night in town as I intend to be supremely intoxicated. Perhaps we can plan to invade the same hotel.. forum nerds ftw.
Fun opportunity to meet up with everyone.. thoughts?

I'm trying to find a friend with a laptop, but so far only laptop is really old and wouldn't have enough space, if it could even run audacity. I am certainly up for getting together early for a few. I plan to be in town by noon or so to scope things out, get settled. We'll figure something out with the motel.
I remember some cool bars in Saratoga when I was there several years ago for a Chile Peppers/STP show.
I also have a laptop plenty capable of holding the show. I'll have it with me anyway and it is available.

So it turns out that money is just way too tight for me to follow through on the megaphone plan (it's looking like we may have to drive back up here after the show rather than staying in town even) but if somebody wants to take the idea and run with it, I'd gladly toss you a few bucks at the show.

WHO IS TAPING THIS?? I was able to borrow a recorder for the Boston show, but I don't think that will happen for the New Years show. I'm happy to provide what little advice or assistance I can offer.

The tentative plan for taping is 4k's laptop and my RCA->line in cable, I met dLo at Harpers, and he said while he wouldn't be at the show, he didn't think it would be a problem. I told him I'd send a PM about it to remind him, to mention it to the sound guy I think. But so far, that's what we are working with.. expecting/hoping to plug into the board.

kane that is the plan. Tape the entire show. I think my laptop will be able to hold it.

Thanks for looking into the megaphone 4k, let me know if you end up getting it. And thanks for offering up your laptop to get this tape done. Good luck with the tape Jeff, thanks for being on top of it, we all appreciate it. I got my tickets in the mail today (I just can't stand not to have them before the show) and am getting really psyched up. Work has been nuts for the last month, so this show is much needed. |
