Anybody else going to this one?
Also, I noticed that the tickets I got say 11:00 PM as the start time, while the Rustic MySpace page has two different times listed - 8:00 PM and 10:45 PM. Any guesses as to which one is right?

Anybody else going to this one? Also, I noticed that the tickets I got say 11:00 PM as the start time, while the Rustic MySpace page has two different times listed - 8:00 PM and 10:45 PM. Any guesses as to which one is right? I'm staying at a friend's outside of Baltimore for the Thursday show.. I'd like to see this one as well, but he said it's like an hour maybe and we're not sure if we'll have transportation. Going to see what happens I guess. Times are a crapshoot, but it seems a lot of places say 8:00.. but that's doors. Then the opener comes on at like 10 and the headliner after a bunch of songs and intermission, sometimes it can get pretty late before the main act takes the stage. I usually aim for around 10, you catch a healthy dose of the opener, you won't be there too early, waiting for somebody to play, and you won't miss the headliner. As a disclaimer, though, I'd like to say I don't know how late places can stay open in Maryland, and this place calls itself a Cafe, so it could actually be on the earlier side. I would call or email them, contact info here

I called the venue, and the girl there said that they expect the band to take the stage at right around 10:00.

The show was great. They ended up taking the stage around 11:45, and played a great set. I didn't get the setlist, but I'm sure someone did. I remember that they played (not in order) Oxygen, Troublesome, Hardest Way Possible, History Crush, Sector Z, C'mon, Light At The End, Happy, Carnival, Combustible, Smoke, Love Underground, Crash Landing, and Gas On Skin. I'll post pictures later, but for now, here's a video clip I took with my camera. I turned it into a Quicktime video to reduce the size. The sound quality isn't great, but considering it's from a camera (not a video camera, just a digital camera) I don't think it's too bad. Thanks for the vid and the pics Rusty, glad you could make the show.
Anybody know why J couldn't make it? I know he's a busy guy, just curious.
How was the turnout?

The turnout was pretty good. My group got there a bit early and grabbed a table next to the stage, so we didn't have to fight the crowd too much, but anytime I walked down around the bar area and front of the stage there were enough people to make it a slow process. The guys must have noticed the PSC shirts my wife and I both had on, or maybe just the fact that we were some of the only people there over college-aged, because both Spencer and Jon took a walk over to our table after the show to chat. Spencer had a good laugh when my wife told him, "We listen to your music all the time. I really like The Porno Song." He replied with, "Well, it's all still true." Jon was his usual friendly self, and seemed to have a pretty good buzz going (that's probably an understatement). He even ran up to us outside the club a little while later for a high-five and to tell us that he hopes to see us all at the Charlottesville show. Oh, and here's another clip. It's Carnival. Sorry about the running around at the beginning, but I wanted to try recording from a different spot. The picture stabilizes at about the 1 minute mark. The audio is still ok during that part, though. www.mediafire.com/download.php?tsnv2dfijj8

29 Mar 2008 - Santa Fe Cafe, College Park, MD
Setlist:
Oxygen Carsick Hardest Way Possible History Crush Carnival Love Underground C'mon > Gas On Skin Crash Landing Happy Rock Like War Sector Z Iron Boots > Smoke > Kashmir (Led Zeppelin) Light At The End
E: Combustible (with Dave Gutter singing from/with the front of the audience pit)
They totally rocked this one. Sick show, cool venue, $2.50 Jack and Cokes! Rustic's string section is now down to one violinist (the hot one) whose volume was too low unfortunately. My highlights were History Crush (they rocked the shit out of the end), Crash Landing (been in my head for a while, good to hear live), and Rock Like War.
See ya'll in New York!

Hey all, Due to commitments I have made towards my family and school, I won't be on this run, but I will be back soon.
The guy filling in for me is Joe Parra, the most incredible baritone saxophonist for Grupo Esperanza, and one of the best people I know; He was very gracious to fill in for me.
