Monday 31 Mar 2008 Iota Club - Arlington, VA
Setlist: Rock Like War History Crush Hardest Way Possible Crash Landing Troublesome Carnival Love Underground Sector Z Oxygen > Carsick C'Mon (followed by some comment about moose being "land lobsters") Gas On Skin Iron Boots Smoke Kashmir (Led Zeppelin) Light At The End
E: Letter To The President (Spencer and Dave only, Spencer on Guitar and Dave on Vocals) E: Happy (full band)
Excellent show! Very similar set to the other night in College Park (in a different order, but only one or two different songs, and with similar segues), yet this was truly a show for the purists - the Maine contingent in the crowd was very strong (one guy even brought a Maine flag), and it seemed like there were many long-time fans (all singing along). The sound levels were much better than at College Park (you could actually hear the violinist pretty well). Dave played acoustic guitar the whole show and Tony used brushes instead of drumsticks. After the set Tony continued to play drums for at least 15 minutes along with the bar's music that they turned up to indicate that the show was over. This was a pretty small bar, so my buddies and I stuck around for some drinks with the band, and I let them know that I wanted Pink Belly to make a comeback. Hopefully we'll see it by the Highline Ballroom show.
See ya'll in New York!
