Taco Bell + Jacoby Ellsbury

Free Tacos this Tuesday, Oct. 30th between 2-5pm at Taco Bell.

Taco Bell had a promotion going with the World Series that when the first base was stolen in the series, the player would earn a free taco for all of America. Jacoby Ellsbury, of the Boston Red Sox, stole 2nd base last night. As I sat watching the game, I knew there was something there.. Taco Bell.. Jacoby Ellsbury..

I sat down after the game and whipped up a photoshop creation, and sent it off to BostonDirtDogs.com and the Boston Globe website, as they'd posted a notice to send in your 'shops. I got home from work today and found a note in my inbox stating it had been featured all day on both sites.

Yeah, about a week after it was posted up there was about 1000 search results for "tacoby bellsbury" on google.

I actually got an email the day of the parade, around noon, from his "marketing manager" asking about t-shirts I made. There was some confusion I guess, because I didn't make any, but they were hoping to get one made up for an appearance he was making at the Taco Bell in the Cambridge Galeria mall directly following the parade.

Unfortunately I was at work (landscaping, so no email checking) and didn't get home til late and finally checked my mail only at 7. She left her cell phone number to get in touch and I called anyway, I was curious what she had to say.. they still wanted to get one made up anyway I guess, and had me send them the original image, which I did, but that was the last I heard from anyone. It has really cracked me up how well it was received! ;D
