This is probably going to come off as condescending, but.....
How hard is it to sing along correctly with the chorus of C'mon? I'm embarrassed for the band when they go silent and the crowd can't figure out that you only say "C'mon" once the second time around.
You would think in Portland of all places people would get it right.
All together now:
"C'mon, C'mon"
"C'mon"
Was that so hard?

Yeah I have been thinking the same thing for a while now.
Maybe we could print out the lyrics and hand them out at the door, well not really, but seriously it's not that hard!
Right on crayons.

I tend to end ep in front of Spencer at the Stone Church shows, and when that part came up, he saw me shaking his head and gave me a "whattaya gonna do?" shrug.
This why, before each Rustic show, you have to give your companions Rustic lessons. The C'Mon thing, the drive thing for Gas, the Cumbustable thing. It ensures a safer, more fun, and more efficient Rustic experience.

Hahaha, I always have to tell that to my friends too, that and to sing along to the end of Rock Like War. That usually hasnt happened the last few times ive seen them though, wonder if theyve dropped it for some reason....

It's about time someone said something. I kind of expect when I see them in Boston that people will mess up, but Portland crowds should get it right.

Yep, I end up laughing and shaking my head every time. Dave gave me the same "whatchagonnado?" look at the last Higher Ground show. I'm happy people are singing along, and words are going to get messed up, but that part ALWAYS sticks out like a sore thumb. Thanks for finally putting it out there Crayons.

As long as people are having fun, who cares? It happened in the shows I went to down here (VA/MD), but to be honest, I'm impressed that they got any response at all given the lack of a fanbase down here.

I think it's safe to say most anyone reading this cares enough to get it right. If you're going to take the time to read a message board regarding the band, you probably know how one of their better known songs go. Best answer is probably just continue to educate your company and eventually more will get it right than wrong, and then the minority can feel sheepish or be rightly mocked Whatchagonnado..

Ok, I volunteer to get up there and hold up "Cmon Cmon" and "Cmon" cue cards at the correct moments. ;D
Where do I apply? I wonder if that could be considered an internship for my next semester. ;D

Did anyone else catch Dave missing a few words at Friday's show? I forget the song or verse, but I am sure he had a little oops somewhere. May have been during Sugercoat even? The c'mon thing doesn't bother me unless they screw it up for the entire song. You'd think they'ed get it after the 5th or 6th time around. Probably just the really drunk folks.

Drunks make the world an interesting place. It's funny how easy it is the get them to sing. The hard part are the right words. ;D

Of course anyone on here is going to get the words right. It's the new fans, casual fans, people at their first Rustic show, etc, that would get them wrong. If you have a concerted effort to mock those people, they're less likely to return and get it right the next time.
I mean, if I went to a show put on by some band I didn't know very well, got into it enough to sing along, and then got laughed at by everyone around me for getting a word wrong, I'd think twice about going the next time. Why waste my time at shows that have an obnoxious/elitist crowd? I want to be where the fun people are.
I'm just saying don't take it so seriously. It's music. It's fun. If someone messes up the words it's not the end of the world.

I agree Rusty....I'm happier with a singing crowd, even if the words are wrong. It shows they're really digging what's going on up there. I'd be really bummed if nobody was singing at all.
(p.s. I was being a wise ass about the cue cards) ;D

He jumped the gun on one of the verses, didn't allow enough time for the instrumental. I hope no one thinks I'm taking the sing along too seriously. It's just something my wife and I notice and laugh about. I'm sure the band laughs about it too. Cue cards are not a bad idea...

Yup, Dave sang "Does it make me look fat? Should I put it back? Do I look good in black?..." Instead of of Do I look good in black? Does it make me look fat? Should I put it back?... That's the only thing I remember.

I, too, was not being entirely serious. Thus the :-P smiley.. I might laugh to myself or with the guys about it but I don't actually plan to make a fuss of it. I'm more concerned with enjoying the show or snapping some photos or video.
