hello to all forum goers,
I've got some work going on for the site, and one of my biggest questions is what to include regarding the various non-rustic projects.
Originally the site was developed in hopes of assisting people in following the new paths of the former band mates. With the band back together it's kind of reversed, and I'm trying to find out what the story is. Obviously we have PSC, AFA, and Lettuce (how much does Zoid play with them?) as well as Seekonk and El Grande for sub forums here.
I don't have a great feel for the scene up there, who plays what or with who.. but with this effort it's something I'd like to get details on before I make any important design decisions.
Drop any knowledge you have.. I've got a good start to things and an idea of where I am going, but definitely still in the development process and need to know this kind of stuff sooner than later!
Thanks to all in advance!

I don't know a lot about the scene but if you need some help coding I can probably lend a small hand: www.prettytheworld.com is mine

If you want to expand the AFA section, I'd be happy to help out with track lists and lyrics for the two newest albums, as well as Rocktopus and Popsicko

Well, I wasn't terribly clear with the initial post. Basically, I think I am going to scale back things and focus on RO, PSC, AFA, and Lettuce. It's still possible to review that, but I don't know which guys do what aside from that. Also, these four acts have remained pretty active. I got a lot of work done this evening and things should speed up from here, since I can now cut/paste some stuff from old to new. I am pretty excited to unveil the new look I will look to flesh out the other sections for sure, if you (crayons) or anyone else has material to submit, by all means. That's what the site is for.. it's all from fans! dgilly, I'm going to send ya a PM momentarily so check it out.

New look is up and running! Now I can get back to regular updates again.. which I have a bit to do! The individual section "news' pages aren't 100% and I'm working on a solution, but everything is still functional. I managed to find a lot of info as far as albums and track lists thanks to bull moose, amazon.com and wikipedia, but if anything is incorrect or missing just let me know. Some lyrics are old/inaccurate/missing if you want to take a stab at them. And the media pages, I am going to revisit, for the time being I pretty much just copied the links from here. I plan to add sections for promotional photos as well, since combining the galleries with set lists eliminated that area. There may be a few overlooked things not working, please let me know if you come across anything. Also, please let me know of any compatibility/display problems if you should encounter them. Hope you like it rustic-overtones.com

Looks good Jeff! Great job!
Yeah, with RO getting back together and some of the other splinter projects becoming defunct or evolving into other things, I agree that it's much better to focus on the core four bands. I had no clue what to do though since, like you, I am pretty far removed from the scene, but it looks better and easier to maintain/update now.

Not sure if this will help you or not Jeff, but having never setup an rss feed, and with only basic knowledge of site building and html, I could follow this pretty easily. www.pier55.com/Web-master/Set-Up-an-RSS-Feed.shtmlETA: The site looks great by the way, really nice work! I'll be clicking through things to see if there are any bugs and I'll see what I can do with some of the missing lyrics over the weekend. Thanks for doing this man, I know it's a lot of work.

Notes:
-Any plans to add the LD re-issue to the albums page? -You may still be working on it, but the buttons for the AFA section (dates, media, albums) all link back to the RO pages -You could add Rocksinger and The Fuzz to a "other" section under PSC albums
That's all I've got for now. Damn, you did an awesome job Jeff.

Nice work Jeff. I'll send you some stuff to fill out the AFA albums page. I'll do my best with lyrics, but may need some help.
You could add Frankenstein Presents The Popsicko Vol. 1 to AFA, and Axis II Demo (includes Rocksinger) to PSC.
Maybe someone knows something about another Rocktopus album, "Ding Ding Here Comes the..." or something like that. I've never seen or heard but remember hearing about it.

Any plans to add the LD re-issue to the albums page? I was wondering about the LD re-issue, should I just add some notes to LD and asterisk the extra tracks, etc. I haven't been able to get a copy since they forgot it before heading out on their tour. You may still be working on it, but the buttons for the AFA section (dates, media, albums) all link back to the RO pages Yeah, that's where the feeds come in. I'm trying to set it up so that there's a blog for each section and then they all get fed to the main page, or vice versa where the posts get filtered to their respective band pages based on labels. I used an include command for the As Fast As label, but the news as it stands now has the buttons linked to Rustic, hence that problem. I meant to change it back but I forgot. edit: fixed it back to old placeholder for now, so buttons work. You could add Rocksinger and The Fuzz to a "other" section under PSC albums good idea, I'll get that added. -------------------- You could add Frankenstein Presents The Popsicko Vol. 1 to AFA, and Axis II Demo (includes Rocksinger) to PSC. Maybe someone knows something about another Rocktopus album, "Ding Ding Here Comes the..." or something like that. I've never seen or heard but remember hearing about it. I thought about the Demo but wasn't sure it was actually different from Axis II. If you or anybody has album art or track listings for that along with other missing albums please share what you know! Thanks for the feedback everyone.

The album Art is the same for the Demo (with a pink drink umbrella in the case). I'll get you the track lists and any other art I have when I'm back on my home computer in a few days.

I'll be sending Jeff everything I've got for AFA as well over the weekend. In terms of the LD re-issue Jeff, I figured since you've got both versions of LATE up there, might as well add the new LD. I actually have to scan in the cover art for it and send it to Bullmoose (they asked me for it since they've still got the original LD album art on the website) so I'll send that your way as well. Look out for it all by Tuesday, maybe sooner if the good weather doesn't pan out in the next couple of days. Once again, thanks for all your hard work.

That was half the reason I did both LATEs, the other part being the swap of Black Leather Bag for Valentine's Day Massacre. I look forward to seeing the new artwork, though I might see it tomorrow if they have them at Tulip Fest With new art and the bonus tracks I'll certainly add it. In other news, I've worked out a solution to use the labels to basically filter them. I'm wrapping that set up now, matter of fact. The way it worked out also freed the side bar to a degree, so I might add some cool features there. The only negative thing is the sub-news pages will get very very long eventually since they display all posts with their label, and I don't see any way to restrict that.

I think you said you solved your post / blog problem but are you using a database at all? It will make your life a lot easier for entering and extracting this information where ever you want it on the site

Maybe someone knows something about another Rocktopus album, "Ding Ding Here Comes the..." or something like that. I've never seen or heard but remember hearing about it. I have "Ding Ding! Here comes the shit mobile" right here. The track list is as follows: 1. Bad Math (original mix) 2. Not Like Me (dj jon space disco remix) 3. Skin The Kat (live on "the studio" at mojo) 4. Hurricane (live on waaf "bay state rocks") 5. Armchair Advocate (live on the wcyy patio) 6. Lonely Guy (complete mix) 7. Too Much TV (live acoustic) 8. The Great Escape (live on the wcyy patio) The packaging is pretty sparse - just a white cardboard sleeve with a sticker on each side. There's no copyright info on it or anything, but it says "mastered by Jim Begley" on the back cover.

Dah-well, I'll shoot him the scan of the cover anyway. You don't happen to remember what year they released this do you Rusty? I remember ordering it from the super old website and I could probably guess it had to be mid 2002 since I think I ordered it with ILYGM, but I figured I'd ask. ETA: Jeff, check your PMs

Thanks guys, I'll get to work on things soon. I've got some pictures and a clip of Oxygen to post myself, from Tulip Fest yesterday. With that yesterday and Mother's Day today haven't had an opportunity, hopefully/possibly later tonight.
edit: added note for dgillyerek - no, not using a database. I haven't had much experience with them and not really familiar with how to use them.
