So, I've been in occasional communication with a dude named Tony on Myspace. He messaged me in response to a post I made about Jason Mraz (I know, I know, you've lost respect for me, get over it). Anyway, turns out he's traveling the country and has a few blogs (just like pretty much everyone else these days). I happened to be doing a blog search for Rustic and stumbled on his. In it, he mentions coming across the Letter video. Here's our convo from that point on, his response to my note is the point of this post.
Will anything come of Brian Williams checking out Letter to the President? Almost certainly not, but it's still pretty damn cool as far as I'm concerned.
So, I randomly stumbled on to your blog again this morning (thank you google blog search) and saw that on the 11th and 12th you mentioned the Rustic Overtones and digging Letter to the President. I wasn't aware that there were others who could jam out to both Mraz and Rustic. Did you come across Rustic by way of my Myspace or was it a completely unrelated discovery, because that would be borderline surreal. If you're interested, I help run the message board on www.rocklikewar.com as well as contribute to www.rustic-overtones.com. Rustic and Mraz are easily the two acts my friends and family are the most sick of hearing me talk about.
Just couldn't let it pass without saying bravo!

Hey Darek-
Actually it's your fault. The day that you responded to my post in the Mraz thread, I stalked your page. After noticing your excellent organizational skills, i saw all of the "rustic overtones this" and "rustic overtones that" and said to myself: "what and/or who is/are the rustic overtones?" So google I did search. First I saw the 'Letter to the President' video on youtube, which I thought was awesome, then I heard some other clips from 'light at the end' and instantly sold my soul to itunes for the whole album. It's fantastic, and thank YOU by the way for making me aware of their existence.
On a semi-random side note, Brian Williams from NBC News, also loves 'Letter to the President.' I had lunch with him on Wednesday in Manhattan and he listened to it from my iPod. I also told him about the video, which I sent him when I got home. He's a good friend of my family's and a real music lover.
Gotta run, I'll catch you later man.
