I live in Florida now and I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to make it up to see any of the shows. Just wondering if anyone is planning on recording them and if not let's try and find someone!

I had posted about this on the PSC board. I don't personally know any tapers, but it would be a shame if nobody got these shows recorded.

I can guarantee that there's going to be someone out of the hundreds of people going to the show that's going to tape it and post it to Live Music Archive. Oh, and if anyone wants to hear some old Live recordings, they have around five shows worth there. I suggest the State Theater one, they played just about everything, plus the audio quality is pretty good. www.archive.org/details/RusticOvertonesOh, also isn't CYY going to record the patio show? They keep playing songs from a patio show a while back every so often, so I imagine that they'd do this one.

What equipment is necessary for taping? I have one of those pocket tape recorders but I have no idea if the sound quality will be sufficient. If it's not too expensive, I may tape it myself.

norm,
to get a decent recording of a live show you need a "compressor mic". Or a straight soundboard rip.
compressor mics are common in nice video cameras, and in most standard mics. A compressor makes it so you dont get a "clanky, clipped out" recording.
since live shows are powered by very large PA systems its going to be LOUD. if you dont have a compressor mic it'll clip out, sound really horrible and trashy. However, with a nice mic it'll sound clean, crisp, and mixed, because no levels are being pushed "too far".

My band may have a compressor mic laying around. I'll look into it.
