Fri 09/12/08 Burlington, VT University Of Vermont Found it on Pollstar, hopefully a little more reliable than my friend. I may be able to make it up, my brother is going to be a freshman at UVM and it would be a great weekend to go visit. Don't have time to research though, I'm sure one of the Vermont guys can take care of that. www.pollstar.com/tour/searchall.pl?By=All&Content=Rustic+Overtones

Thanks for the heads up farley! No details that I could find, but I shot an email to campus activities.

Here is the info I got back from UVM, all good news for the Burlington area folks.
"Darek, they will be performing in connection to the UVM Outing Club Festival. It is free and I am not sure if it is Open to the Public. I am sure that there won't really be anyone checking for id's at the gates. It is more a relaxed time to expose students to the outing club on campus. There will be music from 5:30 on and the Rustic Overtones will go on around 7:00-7:30"

Pumped to have a show here! I don't think they even set up gates for OC fest last year. There might not be much parking nearby, but a few blocks or one of the farther campus lots will be well worth the walk.

So correct me if I am wrong you don't need to be a UVM student to attend such show?

So correct me if I am wrong you don't need to be a UVM student to attend such show? That's what I've been led to believe. Sounds like it's a pretty informal gig and I don't see any reason for non-students to get turned away. That's the hope anyway. I'm still not sure I can make this (once again, thank you work) but I'm going to see what I can do.

Unfortunately, thanks to my "awesome" work schedule, I'm locked into another 12 hour night shift while Rustic rocks 10 minutes away. I've pulled every string and card I can think of and there's just nothing short of quitting (which sounds better and better) that I can do. Hyper lame!
Anyone who does end up going better put together a nice recap for me. If you happen to corner any of the boys try and pump them for info as well (DVD, Spencer's departure, re-releases, new album?), that would be choice.
Have a frickin' blast and rep VT for those of us who can't make it.

Too wet for the CBW green. Now it is in the Grand Maple room in the new Davis Center, top of main st.

The guys played a really good show last night. I don't have time to recap it right now, but I needed to get this info out to people
They're playing St. Mike's tonight. I guess iy was to be a secret, but the guys let it out last night.
Oh, and Nigel Hall (Lettuce) is playing keys for them right now. Such a good fit.
I'll recap when I get home from work. I might have some of the show recorded as well.

UVM Dudley Davis Hall Show.
Setlist Rock Like War Hardest Way Possible History Crush Troublesome Iron Boots Combustible Oxygen "Outing Club Raffle" i.e. Dave G broke both Guitars' guitar strings and needed to change them C'mon Gas On Skin Crash Landing Happy Light at the End "Encore" Feast or Famine (amazing keys from Nigel on this one) Carsick
The show would have been better outside on the Center Green with the echoes and acoustics from the surrounding buildings. The Show was upstairs on the four floor and the Cathedral style ceilings made it hard on the sound. There were about a hundred or so kids there. So, familiar faces and band relations in the crowd was good to see. From the get go the guys all look like they were having a lot of fun. Angela was there with Violin and an added octave pedal and like I said before Nigel Hall on keys. Tony's sporting a mustache. Which unfortunately gives him that Magnum P.I. look or Beastie Boy wannabee, but maybe it's just me. Sorry Tony if that hurts your feelings.... I think I got the whole show recorded, but I'll have to go through it and boost the volume and what not. One thing is for certain Nigel is a great fit. I'm just not sure how the guys will take him wearing the Yankees cap for more shows. The Crowd really got into this show. They didn't do so badly on the C'mon responses, they dance through the whole show, at Happy about 3/4 of the crowd waved their hand and arms back and forth to the song, and at the end their were a lot of kids trying to get the guys to sign things. It was really nice to see the magic I felt when I first saw them. They instantly made me a life long fan from that day on.....

Did anyone make it to the 9/13 show at St. Mike's? I know that someone was filling in for Noyes, 'cause he had prior commitments.
Just wondered who filled in and a set list.

I wanted to, but got tied up and didn't realize it was an earlier start. Supposedly Nigel had another commitment for Saturday as well but will be playing with Rustic in the future. It was great that the crowd was really into it! The acoustics weren't amazing, but not bad. In front the sound was pretty good. I set up a recorder back at the board, and I think it was a little "echoeyer" there. The volume is adjusted but I didn't have time to play with anything else. Great Recoding Hands! Much better than the muffled crap I got. The Echo was just apart of the place. I think the recording really captured the place well.
Nigel kills it on Feast or Famine.
