Just a head's up - I swung by the Middle St. Bull Moose store during lunch today, about 2 hours ago, and found the entire RO catalogue there, used of course. I quickly relieved them of their copy of Shish Boom Bam (sorry!), but they still have the original versions of literally everything else. Long Division, My Dirt, Rooms by the Hour, Viva Nueva, and the first pressing of Light at the End.
Some poor dude must have been seriously hard up...

Probably Spencer's copies. Were there any with a green case? Very Rare find.

No green cases, alas. Fine with me though.

Probably Spencer's copies. Ooof, harsh N, harsh I got a chuckle out of it though. Very good move snatching up Shish csprague. Just out of curiosity (and to make me feel like even more of a sucker for what I paid for my second copy) how much did it go for?

Is Shish good?
I think I remember finding a website that had a sample to listen to and the recording quality sounded bad. When I tried to find that site a second time I couldn't find it so maybe I'm wrong.
I had a chance to get it (relatively) on the cheap and have been kicking myself ever since. Should I stop kicking?

Solid album, very different from every other Rustic CD. The band sounds a lot younger. I think Fishin, Freddy, and Scarecrow are all classics, though. If you're a casual fan, it may not be worth dropping $100, but I generally listen to it straight through.

Think of "Shish" as the album that R.O. was still searching for their sound; an album used to get themselves out to the masses. "Long Division" really is the start of the whole R.O. experience with "Rooms, Viva, & Light" continuing to put exclamation points on their sound. I have a good feeling that the "New Album" will redefine the dynamics of Rustic once again. my suggestion is to go to Archive and dig through some of the live shows and download the live versions of "Shish" songs. www.archive.org/details/RusticOvertones

What are the chances of somebody upping Shishboobbam? I had a casette version of it a long time ago - that was lost about 3 house moves ago, though. I really don't feel like dropping a bill on it, and I don't live in Maine. I just want to toss it on my ipod to have in the off chance I feel like listening to it. I miss the old version of Bad Truth.

The recording quality isn't that great. It definitely sounds like a low budget indie release, which it was. As for whether it's good or not, I think it's an alright album, but it's not a real Rustic Overtones album. The lineup was completely different, the style is more like ska than what they became on Long Division, and like Nuphus said, they sound like they're looking for their sound. It's easily my least favorite of all of their albums, which it should be, really. I can't remember the last time I listened to it. If you can find it cheap, like $20 or less, I'd get it, but don't spend $100 on it. Personally, I'd just grab the live versions of Shish songs that they played at "the final show" as the sound quality is better, and the band members that you know are playing on it.

Answers to various questions:
Price? $15.99
What do I think of the album? I like half of it a real lot, and the other half less so. Favorite tracks: Brand New Friend, One Strongest Will, Fishin in a Bucket, Scarecrow(!!!), and Freddie had a Lady. A few others are OK, one or two are kind of weak, but overall, I like the album.
I've had a rip of it for a couple years, so it was nothing new, I just wanted a real copy, both in order to be legit and just because I like having the real versions of things anyway.

Oh and the totally different version of Bad Truth is pretty good, too. I always listen to that one when I'm playing the album.

What's the deal with the "green case" version? I bought one of these on w-bay a couple weeks ago for $25. Liner pictures are way cool. Now I need a new copy of Viva as the case tucked away with the rest was found to contain a Dave Mathews disk, not my beloved Rustic.......damn ex-wives.
