Very Cool to have you aboard Nigel.
I can only speak for myself, but great to have you mixing your style into Rustic. Nice to hear the ever evolving Rustic still moving forward. Are you involved with the supposed new album?
Till Bath.. hope you guys shake the building down.

Hey Nigel. Good to have you aboard. We're all pretty stoked, I think. 2 things...
1) I'm curious as to what your current rig is. Touring and/or studio.
2) Would you please whisper in the ears of your bandmates to tour just a bit further down the coast to Charlotte. We miss you. peace-kev

You must be a keyboard player!!! In the studio, I use whatever I can get my hands on, If it works with the song of course. Live, I use a Fender Rhodes, Clavinet D-6 (I need a new one, this ones been thru hell and back) Nord Electro 61 & Lead 1 (till I get a Minimoog) Reason (midi) and a whole lot of other stuff I can't think of right now. I will post a picture soon of what I like to call "THE RIG OF LIFE" I was just in NC for the Loki Music Fest playing with my other band, Lettuce. It's beautiful and I would love to come back to NC and rage with Rustic. I'll see what I can do. Can we crash at your house?

Hey Nigel. Thanks for posting. I really dug your give and take with Dave while playing Feast or Famine a couple of weeks ago. Look forward to seeing you guys live at the Asylum
My questions are:
What are your musical influences? how did you get started and what kind of stuff do you like listening to most
What is the contrast between playing with Lettuce and playing with Rustic? Is it a big difference or just a refreshing change?
Were you surprised the guys asked you to play?
Thanks man.

My musical influences range from Jimi Hendrix to Herbie Hancock. My favorite keyboard player is George Duke (Zappa and the Mothers, Stanley Clarke, Cannonball Adderley) James Brown is probably a really big influence on me. I like Fusion/Jazz alot. The Headhunters, Return To Forever, Mahavishnu Orchestra, A lot of weird shit. Anything Funky inspires me a lot. My musical horizons are being spread though. You never know what I'll be into next week. As far as the contrast between Lettuce and Rustic goes, I'm a keyboard player before i'm a singer. But I love to sing. With Lettuce I get to be the front man, which is cool because I love being able to captivate the crowd. But with Rustic, I get to do what IS me. Play keys and sing on the side. I can do anything with anybody, It's just good to be able to do it with your friends. I was surprised when asked to play with Rustic. But I think they were even more surprised when I accepted... either way I'm loving every minute of it!!!!

Nigel is the man. the Lettuce album Rage sat in my cd player in my car for about 3 months straight. The song Relax is a definite HIT off that disc. He also gives us a nice bridge along with Zoidis to the Sam Kinninger band, featuring Nikki G, who is an out of this world drummer that has played with Beyonce (because she's f'n off the hook!)
I really, really, really can not wait to see Rustic with Nigel. I haven't been this excited to see a live band in a long while. To me, this is really like a super group type thing.
No disrespect to Spencer. That kid has his chops together. Duh.
