Hi, here's some things that are new today and the effect they will have on our band..
1.) Our Presidant!!!!... Obama winning the election over McCain is, in our opinion, good for many reasons. On the up side, it looks like I won't have to move to Toronto now, which is good I guess. As much as I love the place it would have been an awefully long ride back and forth from the studio and I'm not positive that I could trade the Bruins in to become a Leafs fan.. Not this year anyway.. It also makes me wonder how relevent "Letter to the Presidant" will be over the coming months / years. Not having an arrogent, hard-headed, war pushing f@$*ing cowboy in the White House may take some of the poignancy away from that song... we'll have to wait and see. I think it's a fair trade... Still, pretty incredible night last night and no matter what side you were on, it's hard not to feel like we were alive for something that will carry a massive weight in our worlds history. Next up? R Kelly's new inspirational hit single entiltled "Yes we can! (pee on underage girls and have an entire jury watch the home video of it on a television and hear me call her by her name and still walk away an innocent man)" featuring Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis.... Cant effing wait!!! AMERICAAAAAAA!!!!
2.) This ones actually important... NHL '09 finally came out today for PS2! This means I might as well have moved to Toronto because the band will be seeing alot less of me. They have a new feature that allows you to invent yourself and be plugged right in as a rookie in the NHL. This is different than past years because you ONLY play as yourself and the staff tracks your progress from game to game as you try to better your skillset and climb the ladder to becoming an elite force in, "the show" as we professionals like to call it.. I am 4 games in with a goal and 2 assists along with 2 fighting majors. My linemate is Andrew Ferrence and my coaching staff is pleased. Win a Stanley Cup?.. Yes We Can!!
3.) Songs.. "The Smallest Spark" has been getting alot of attention in the last week at our studio. It is very nearly finished. The last two days were spent recording horns and strings and it's sounding great so far. Theres a new song called "Like the Blues" that has been seeing some time on the control desk and we will soon be starting tracking for a song called "Break the News" that we've been playing live a bit lately. However, what I'm most excited about right now is a new ballad we've been toying with over the last few weeks, tentatively titled "The Night will see You Through" that was built out of some really pretty gospel changes that Nige' was playin around on. Soooo More later on all things from the studio at a later time. Just know we are operating at a steady pace and all things are well and good..
Lastly, The Mustache is GONE!.............. for now....
Now, Everyone go listen to Sam Cooke and think about how we ended up here today.. Peace.
