With the release of Light at the End, there are now three official versions of Hardest Way Possible? Which is your favorite? Personally, I like the iViva Nueva! version the most, with the Light at the End version coming second. It seems like each version is more or less dominated by a different instrument -

My one question is...with a good amount of material never to make it to cd(last nights band,cherry things like that),why do they keep rerecording the same song over and over again?

For me the Rooms version is tops. Zoidis puts it down in a big way and I like the vocal and guitar mix the best of the three. LATE - I dig the strings Viva - Too fast and too sterile Rooms - Gotta love the horns and the guitar And after a quick search it's nice to know that I'm not going crazy in thinking we'd already talked about this a while back (not that it matters): rusticovertones.proboards79.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=93 |

Where's "none of the above"? I don't like this song in any of its incarnations. It makes a great bathroom break at the shows though.
Viva Nueva version is probably the least bad since it is the shortest of the three. Although it doesn't make much of a difference since I just skip it automatically. I'm sure it'll end up on the next album too, just to annoy me.

Definitely the Rooms version for me. The rhythm section pushes that song along. Tony's hi-hat is driving, matching Dave's guitar work. Once the rhythm section cooled off and Tony played the groove on the ride, it lost the sense of urgency for me. If I could rank them, it would go Rooms, Viva, LATE.

This is quasi-off topic.. and mostly aimed towards the girls although some of the boys may have an opnion. What do you all think of HWP as a first dance at a wedding? After a brief period of disfunction, the long distance couple finally got it right!

RBTH version is pretty, but too sleepy for my taste. Viva Nueva version is a bit more upbeat and enjoyable. LATE comes in a close second because those strings are just badass.
