Just bumping this because it should be a blast. JBB plays up here in Burlington all the time and have a major following. I actually did a review on their side project Rubblebucket Orchestra for Burlington's 7 Days Mag a few months back. Good tunes and good people. Should be a really live show, get there if you can.

Darek's anal factor is way too much folks. Enjoy Darek's board. It's obviously for him and not the rest of us. Later all.

Let me be the first to say good riddance. Derek I believe you do a great job here and I want to take the chance to say thank you.

I won't comment on good/bad job, but JP, if that post was directed at your thread getting closed....WOW. Just WOW. If not, I'll be shutting up now.

Keeping the board clean is far from an anal factor. Anyways, I think that Derek's Rustic knowledge brings alot to his board and helps to make it worth visiting, so I hope he stays around.

Yes, thanks again Darek for your commitment and hard work to keeping up the board and our interest in RO. Without you, this board most likely doesn't exist and we are in the dark. Glad to see that others share our love for Rustic.

Darek's anal factor is way too much folks. Enjoy Darek's board. It's obviously for him and not the rest of us. Later all. Wow, sorry you took offense to my locking your thread jp (as well as your other duplicate thread about the same show). It certainly wasn't anything personal. I really do appreciate everyone's input and was happy to read your thoughts on the gig. There's just no reason to have multiple threads about the same thing. I certainly invite everyone to read what JP had to say about the show. Sounds like it was a good time. And as far as the "anal factor" goes, guilty as charged. People always say it like it's a bad thing. If other folks out there have a problem with anything that I post or do on this board, by all means speak up. It's certainly not mine, it's Tim's, but my dull-ass night shift gives me more time than most to mess around online. I really appreciate the kind words in the previous posts, but if people have legitimate issues with the board, my contributions or otherwise, don't hesitate to voice them. Viva la resistance!! Found this on the JBB blog.
01/10 Saturday, Skowhegan, ME I sort of enjoy stark contrasts. After a night in NYC (particularly that one) nothing cleanses the palate like a January gig in rural Maine. Maine is much bigger than most people think. Stephen King lives here for a reason. There’s a beautiful spookiness. I can’t put my finger on it. Maybe it’s the Allagash Four stories or maybe it’s because it survived the industrial revolution relatively unscathed. Or maybe it’s the outhouses. Either way it’s very easy to imagine life here 200 years ago.
We played the Skowhegan Opera House. It was very beautiful but the local police station was in the basement so there was a slight big brother feel. After last night’s amp fiasco I spent a long time getting reacquainted with how my equipment should sound. Security asked that I stop when the doors opened.
We were playing with Rustic Overtones who recently reunited and are sounding absolutely great. I felt our bands were perfectly matched. Tommy spent most of their gig checking out the drummer who had a very unassuming kit and then killed it. The whole band sounded fresh and new. They were sort of in the mold of the Dave Matthews Band without sounding derivative. We played first and had to load out while they started so we didn’t get to hang with them very much. There was an after party but we didn’t get the details. Anyway, I think we should do a national theater tour with them — it would help both bands — more healthy cross-pollination.
