August 18th is a Tuesday -- Everyone should know this is JULY 18th Yeah, I sent Spence a note about that last night. Just noticed that I didn't change it in my copy/paste of his message, I'll do that now. I was also curious if there was going to be any way to download the new album if we aren't anywhere near a Bull Moose. I messaged Spener about that as well but who knows if he'll get back to me. If anybody hears anything about it be sure to post.

Word from Spence is that the album will be available for download from Bullmoose.com starting next Tuesday.
He also sent out a correction about the date. As expected, July it is.

Anyone familiar with the sound board or guy at Asylum? I'd really like to record this show or assist in getting it recorded. I know some boards will record right to disk. I'm limited to a laptop which has proven very un-successfull.

I recorded Rustic from the soundboard at Asylum once. Begley was doing to sound for Rustic, not the house guy. Incidentally, he was also taping direct to laptop. I was plugged into an XLR out, I had to go to Radio Shack to buy a couple of adapters. If you want to do this to laptop, you'd need an XLR-1/4 inch and a 1/4 inch to 1/8 inch adapter.
Spencer has always been amenable to taping, so maybe check with him before the show.
I'd love it if you could get this taped. The impending arrival of our first child means there's no way I can make this show.

Facebook message from Hache:
Thanks for making the new AFA album the #1 local album at Bull Moose this past week. You all get an AFA For Effort. Ha. Ha.
Seriously though, thanks. We'll be playing some stuff we haven't played in a looooong time on Saturday night, a Rocktopus tune or two and maybe a Popsicko tune if you're nice.
AFA will also be appearing with Curdo on WCYY Spinout tonight to hype the show and further hyping with Rob on the drive at 5 tomorrow so tune in and be entertained by the wit and wisdom of As Fast As.

awesome thanks for the help.
I'll post the show up sometime this week hopefully. The room sounded boomy as usual but I think the tape came out better than I remember the show being (could have just been because it was so f'n loud)

Both sound great. I had a hard time picking out any major differences between the two. Ended up downloading the MBHO version.

Thank you soooo much for taping this Derek. Missing this show is one of the biggest regrets I have in my life. I suck.

Sure no problem guys. I think the tape actually sounds better than I remember the show being. It was extremely really loud and boomy. I think the vocals come through better in the tapes
The mbho source should be "brighter" than the akg source. The akg source is a more neutral representation of what the venue sounds like imo.
