Rustic and Lettuce have been officially added to the lineup. Good for Rustic, I was really hoping they'd play here. I've always thought they should hit up some more festivals during the summer...

Nice! I'm not too keen on Passion Pit, but there's some good names in that list. If it was local-ish for me I'd be all over that!

I just realized that no one else seems to have posted on the festival, so I might as well. Unbelievable show! Rustics were right on top of their game and sounded great in the festival setting. Even though they played very early in the day (12 Noon), there was actually more of a crowd for Rustics than there was for many other bands that played later in the day and on Sunday.
During Kathleen Caffeine, out of the corner of my eye I noticed there was a well dressed older looking man with unruly gray hair standing to the side of the stage watching Rustics. It took me a second to realize, but it was Wayne Coyne, the lead singer of the Flaming Lips! I know that Rustics have had some pretty amazing brushes with stardom in the past (David Bowie, Imogen Heap...), but this was particularly cool for me since I've been saying since it came out that a lot of the new album sounds influenced by the Lips.
Setlist:
Downside of Looking Up Kathleen Caffeine Cherry!!!!! Everybody Needs To Be Somebody's Friend Gas On Skin Troublesome Common Cold Valentine's Day Massacre?!? C'Mon Rock Like War
One last thought, have they been playing Cherry lately? Because I've been to 12 Rustic Shows now since they've gotten back together, and I haven't heard it once. I almost didn't recognize it for a minute, but a little bit into the horn part I was freaking out. Maybe this might mean that they're taking another look at some of their older stuff?

They've played Cherry a couple of times in the last couple of years. They seem to like to throw it in from time to time but it's far from a regular on the setlist. Sounds like it was a great show, I found out a friend of mine ended up going (not specifically for Rustic) but I've yet to get a report back.
Dave posted on Facebook about getting to talk with the guys in Flaming Lips for a bit backstage and said it was a huge moment for him.
