I'll be the tall guy with a Sox hat from Vermont not named Darek.

I'll be in an Atlanta Braves hat. Shouldn't be nearly as many of those as there are Red Sox hats.

Maybe I'll wear my old Rustic t-shirt, that will make me stand out.

oh never mind, then I WILL wear my expos hat, from the last game at the Big O. (Don't forget they were the best team in baseball in 1994)

oh never mind, then I WILL wear my expos hat, from the last game at the Big O. (Don't forget they were the best team in baseball in 1994) I used to love going to Expos games, despite the invariably poor turnout. I remember walking up to the Big O about 5 minutes before game time, slapping down $33 Canadian (about $20 US at the time), and getting a seat right behind Mark McGwire during the whole home run chase in '98. During the other games, I'd sit near right field so I could cheer for Vlad (who is still one of my favorite players).

Now that we're completely off-topic...My wife and I went up when the Red Sox played interleague there. They lost our ticket reservations, so they gave us seats in the team box. I think there were about 20,000 sox fans there.
So anyone else around Saturday? We should all (or just the two of us) get together before or at the show.

I went to an expos game in 02....they were playing the METS, i just hapened to be in MTL for a Dave Matthews show, but we paid $6 canadian for right field seats, Mo Vaughn hit dinger like 3 rows over me, and Vlad had a crazy cult following up there, or maybe his family was just at the game, it was like a whole section. So there is a little more off topic conversation for this thread.

Violation for sure. Sorry if the sarcasm in my voice didn't come through while I was typing. I didn't wear my old RO shirt, but saw one guy with one, as well as one guy with the new bunnies shirt and one PSC shirt.

I think the rule has several qualifications though. Like at a big show you can wear a band shirt as long as it is very old. It works as a badge of your fandom in the parking lot. Small shows though not so much, and you DEFINITELY can't wear the new shirt.

The shows were AMAZING! I had a great time watching the band play, much more so than my first show in 2001. The club itself was subpar, and a lot of the fans there on Saturday were idiots (i.e. leaving the front of the floor area then waltzing back up there demanding their same spot, shoving my 5'3 girlfriend out of the way to get to the bathroom), but surprisingly the all ages show was much calmer and people were much more polite.
Also, there was some guy at the Saturday show with his shirt off who stunk. If any of you know him, can you punch him for me?

Violation, indeed! I don't want to be Debbie Downer, and for sure, I def speak for myself when I say we've all violated some of the rules of rock for Audiences- and as we have wandered off topic, I think a trip down memory lane is in order for those who have forgotten the rules of rock (according to Buddyhead.com) www.buddyhead.com/music/rulesofrock/audience.htmlThe reason for the link is also due to people who think its a good idea to start a mosh pit at a RUSTIC OVERTONES show ((see #21 haha one of my fav. And sadly I broke #24, and what makes it worse is that they were literally mudvayne CDs )) Don't get me wrong, I'm really not a square and I can definitely appreciate the hardcore rocking thing, but I'm an advocate of saving the energy and punching for slipknot or lamb of god, or other mosh-friendly band.

Crap. I once wore a Rustic shirt to a PSC show. The band even noticed it (REALLY small crowd in Richmond, VA). That might actually make it worse.
Are there any rules about wearing shirts from the wrong genre of music? I once wore a Rustic shirt to a metal show. It was a local death and thrash metal show in an old, run down coffee shop with a bunch of people dressed all in black. (BTW, that's not my kind of music, but a friend begged me to go so he wouldn't have to go alone and get sacrificed or something)

I had my arm around her when someone insisted on pushing between us. We had parts of three beers poured on us, and two meat heads in front of almost got into a fight. Tell your girl she was lucky to be up front, because mine (5'7") couldn't see anything in back where we were standing.

Once I ran into Spencer at Bull Moose while wearing a Rocktopus t-shirt shortly after they had become As Fast As. I may not have broken any rules, but I felt awkward.

I sported my PSC shirt to a 2 Skinnee J's show when Spencer was filling in on keyboards. Sort of a roundabout connection so I feel like I'm free of violation.
I've gotta say that while MOST of the people at the 7/28 show were well behaved there was a lot of beer spilt and a few "moshers without a pit" that caused some serious annoyance for some of us up front. We also had a pair of rushers (big dudes who make a dash for the very front of the stage midway through the set) catch elbows to the throat from a dude at the front who wasn't about to let them run over the girls he was behind. Props for that for sure. My girlfriend had just moved out to catch some air when they came rumbling through or she would have been right in their path.
Concert going can be treacherous no matter what, and I'm all for letting out the energy but there's no accounting for drunk a-holes who don't care who else's show they taint with their retardery.

Yeah, a mosh pit at a Rustic show is the most retarded thing ever. Had it happened around me, I would have stuck my elbows out at the most opportune times to injure the moshers. Don't get me wrong, I play for a hard rock/light metal band and have been in and played for many mosh pits, but moshing to Rustic is just wrong.
I almost wore the new Rustic shirt to the 8/5 show but was glad I didn't.
My girl had a ton of drinks spilled on her too. I think I had one or two spilled on me but I was prepared for it. And she had a hard time seeing because some 6'+ Amazon managed to keep getting directly in front of her. We almost didn't go the next day because of the bad time she had, but we're glad we did.

Wait, I need a ruling on this.
At the Friday Boston show, EVERYBODY was singing along. did we all break the rules? I wouldn't have sung if nobody else was!

Ok. I think for those of us at the Friday Boston show who were "singing" weren't out of line or breaking any rules.
I was mouthing the words, but not actually using my vocal cords.
I was excited, as was everyone around me, jumping and having a good time. Since they were back in Boston for the first time in 5 years (I believe), I think the energy we provided them maybe got directed right back at us.
btw, no rules broken for singing during Mr. President at all.
