Download SLEDGEHAMMER LIVE MASTERED! www.mediafire.com/?dt92ivxny1mDownload I WANT A NEW DRUG LIVE MASTERED! www.mediafire.com/?dbknom2btriMany of you have heard the original recordings of Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer" performed by Rustic Overtones, as well as Huey Lewis and The News' song "I Want A New Drug". You can download the original mp3's HERE, however you won't want to, because they've recently been MASTERED. For those of you not familiar with mastering, it's the most important part in audio production these days, besides the actually recording. A "Final Recorded Mix" doesn't cut it for cd, tv, radio or any type of entertainment standards for that matter. That's where mastering comes in. It makes the song sound HUGE, more balls you could say. I'm glad to have mastered these amazingly mixed tracks by Mike Madio for all the Rustic fans, and members to hear. Enjoy! I'd also like to thank our forum member "darek" for hooking up the converted mp3's!

Thanks Tim! The mastered versions really do sound better. If you don't mind me asking, what audio software do you use for this?

I use a couple things to master. The main program I use is WAVELAB. I use plugins too. I use Firium for EQ settings. And I use Ozone for the multiband compression, limiting, loudness, and compression.
really glad you dig! burn a CD of both mastered, and unmastered veresions.... get a SICK stereo system (in a car or house) and BLAST the mastered version LOUD... then switch to the unmastered version.. you'll see how much better you can hear EVERYTHING... the crowd, the bass, the drums, spencer, EVERYTTHING!! woo i love it lol

Wow Tim, thanks! Those files sound like they're professional quality. How long did it take to master them with your software?
