For those of you that are curious...
Rustic Overtones Saturday 4 August 2007 The Asylum, Portland, ME
Something (Beatles cover) -> Hardest Way Possible Pop Trash Man Without A Mouth The Heist Troublesome Come On -> Gas On Skin Carnival Oxygen Dig Rock Like War Simple Song -> Check -> Iron Boots -> Smoke
Encore: Freddie Had A Lady Light At The End (with string trio closer)
Sick show, I came up from NYC to peep it, and it blew my mind. I'm inspired to go again tonight. Anyone got any extra tickets?

Thanks for that. Nice to see they played Freddie. I'm still waiting to be really bummed when they play Brand New Friend and I miss it. Would have liked to see smoke as well. Did Dave have his megaphone?

One addition to the setlist: While the strings were finishing up Light at the End, Gutter was carried out into the lobby, where he and Spencer did Letter to the President.
What a show. The strings really add a new dimension. I hope I get a chance to see another show.

Mr. President turned into a sing-along in the lobby, ending with a few bars of "Give Peace a Chance" I only caught the last part, as I stayed in to listen to the strings finish up Light at the End.

I saw gutter waving everybody out there but i thought he was just waving to the bar. I hung around listening to the violins for a minute then when i tried to walk that way it was all clogged up (guess people weren't going anywhere when they could listen to that) so me and my buddy turned around and went out the side exit.

I was pumped about the Dave/Spence rendition of "Letter to the President", but that lobby was way too small to have half the club go out there. I hurt my wrist when someone shoved me into the merch table. I know that you guys know better, but it lowered my opinion of our fellow Rustic fans.

I almost got crushed against the merch table when security was leading Dave and Spencer back into the hall after the song. I got a little uncomfortable for a moment.

I was crushed against the merch table too. You were probably like less than 3 feet away from me. I was the 6'4 guy guarding the 5'5 lookalike of Trinity from the Matrix if that helps any.

I don't know, I wasn't really looking around. Trying to watch Dave and Spencer and not get crushed. I was just outside the door next to the piles of shirts.
