As usual, thread for the Troy show.
This will be my first time ever seeing the Rustic Overtones. I found out/got into them just about the same time they split up. I've seen many PSC shows, and some AFA, but I didn't think I'd ever get to see Rustic perform.
I am so freakin' excited ;D

I have some important new regarding this show. I was at the second Boston show on Saturday night and found out a couple of sad news items. First off, during the show the band said that the female string section would not be joining them after that night. I don't know what this means for Troy but I'm sure the band will make it up to us some how. Second, and this is very dis-heartening, word is that tickets for this upcoming show aren't selling as well as they thought. I urge everyone out there that is thinking about seeing this band, or sitting on the fence trying to make a decision to let me make it for you, GO SEE THIS BAND LIVE, you will not be disappointed. Either get your tickets online or go the night of the show. Bring as many friends as you can because seeing Rustic live isn't just another concert but it's something that you will never forget. I made the mistake of not seeing them several years ago and now I am nothing short of the fact of being thankful that they reunited and are playing again in my area. Do yourself a favor and go see this band in Troy. I want to see a packed house with people getting turned away at the door. Let's show Rustic how much people from Upstate NY appreciate them for making the trip to our neck of the woods.

I was working on getting some friends to go, and so I haven't bought tickets yet as I didn't know how many would be needed. But it sounds like everyone's got some stupid travel plans or is generally unavailable.
So I went to finally order just mine last night and found I don't like rev hall's system. It says $18 pre-order and 20 day of, but then there's a lame 2 buck fee for ordering online. I went ahead anyway and then they ask you to register on their site, which is where I stopped. I don't mind putting in billing info but I didn't really want to sign up for their site  I'll just pay at the door.

Higher Ground here in VT is a lot like that. I know a LOT of people just go to the box office before hand, or the day of the show to get tickets. I wouldn't be at all surprised if that's a big reason why sales have been slow for the Rev Hall show.

Higher ground is pretty awesome, but they do also scam you a buck for using a credit card PER ticket

Unfortunately I can't offer a setlist because I'm not too familiar with their songs yet. I just heard them for the first time on Wed only to find out they were playing live 2hrs away from me last night. My woman and I dumped the kids and headed out to Revolution Hall and I am glad we took the trip.
The place was hot as heck last night and it seemed like it took them a while to set up but it was WELL worth it. I am sure others will agree that they sounded great. They rocked hard had great energy considering the heat, and put on a really good performance. At first it didnt seem like the place was crowded but once RO came on it seemed like fair amount of people. Unfortunately we had a group of people in front of us, 4 rows from the stage, that didnt move at all during the performance... odd.
Again, I am not too familiar with their songs but I recognized a few songs from their new album and I know they played Girl Germs :-)... oh and Combustible. If anyone knows the two songs that were heavy on the sax, my girl and I would like to know which those were? Yeah.. the sax player was great.
As a new band find for me.. they were exactly what I expected and just the kind of music I was looking for. The available live recordings are a treat but dont come close to hearing them live. Which brings me to the obvious question for someone new exploring this band: What is the chance of me finding their old CDs if I don't live in Maine?

What is the chance of me finding their old CDs if I don't live in Maine? eBay is about it right now, unfortunately, other than Viva Nueva, which you can still find in a few places. Rumor has it that they might re-release some old stuff.

I don't have these in remotely the right order, wasn't able to snag a set list. Right after they walked off stage a buncha rabid 18 year old girls climbed up and took 'em. But going from memory and looking at my mp3s I've tried to list everything.. again, I'm pretty sure the order is way off. C'mon Girl Germs Gas on Skin Rock Like War Love Underground Hardest Way Possible My Dirt Sugarcoat Iron Boots Combustible Troublesome Man w/o a Mouth History Crush Carnival Crash Landing Light at the End I've got some pictures I'll get up soon and some video clips but I don't think the sound came out at all. If anyone knows the two songs that were heavy on the sax, my girl and I would like to know which those were? Yeah.. the sax player was great. My guess would be History Crush and Iron Boots.

youtube.com/user/sparklingetherRevolution Hall. 8/24. Audio is horrible because my camera isn't equipped for that kind've sound. Tony's head is a cymbal, while Ryan appears to be having a love affair with the mic stand. (Damnitall.) Spencer is shrouded in some strange fog. Please ask for permission for useage. It was hot, sweaty, and amazing. Enjoy. -Rachel (Doc H from the olden days.)

Also for your viewing pleasure: s158.photobucket.com/albums/t111/sparklingether/Note the strange phenomenon of indoor fog, which I guess.. 'looks cool'... or something... but severely hinders photography. It did give Spence a brief angelic shroud, though.. These are full quality shots, so again if you'd like to use them, please just ask.. I hope you enjoy them despite the fact that it looks like RO is emerging from the Mists of Avalon...... heh Setlist: -Rachel

Thanks for the pics and vids Rachel! It's too bad the sound isn't better because the video quality is really good. Thanks so much for sharing, I'll throw a link up on the media page.

haha, I didn't do half bad on the setlist.. a couple out of place (I knew they played a new song early, but it was troublesome not rock like war) but close for the most part. Also, I don't think they played Feast or Famine.. I know for sure they played Crash Landing and that's not on the list, so maybe they swapped it. Edit: youtube.com/watch?v=ynS5085EFQQ is hilarious, I was cracking up watching them
