Friday, November 9th Higher Ground Ballroom $13 advance, $15 day of show doors 8:00 show 8:30 Yes, I'm starting the thread well over a month ahead of time but I'm just THAT excited about this show and I thought it deserved it's own thread rather than being buried in the Documentary thread (good lookin' out by the way handsingloves, thanks for the heads up). So who's going? Who's taping? I lack any sort of recording device otherwise I'd be all over it but I'm more than willing to help out if somebody needs a hand with recording, this is definitely a show I want to have. Show info and tickets here

I should be there, put in the request for time off earlier. I'm spending all my cash driving to RO shows, and I don't care. I can't stand to miss one if I can possibly make it... it's a treat after not having them around for so long!

I just moved full-time to CT, but I'm going back for this one. I'm sure I can still find a couch to crash on. I may be able to get my hands on some basic recording gear. I've never done it before, but since no one else seems to want to step up, I'll see if I can.

This show is still not on their myspace, but is on the Higher Ground calendar. Hopefully it's for real.

I can't imagine the venue'd post false information.. aren't they selling tickets for it already? I'll be ticked if it's not accurate, I already got the day off from work. heh

I already ordered my tickets, so I'd be seriously bummed if it's not for real. I'm sure I'd get a refund, but it would hardly make up for the show not happening. And I'd hate to burn a full night off from work for nothing.

And I'd hate to burn a full night off from work for nothing. I bought my tickets on-line and placed them on will-call. I went to pick them up and the guy in the booth said that there were a bunch of tickets sold, but there were plenty left. Higher Gound hols around a 1000 people or so. Great site lines and great sound (if Rustic brings their own sounds guy and doesn't use in house). I live in So. Beerlington and I've spread the word that Rustic's coming. Also noticed just the other day that the opening band is Revision www.revisionmusic.com/. Maybe Rustic is just trying to give us Western New Englanders a chance to see a show, before all the Mainers buy the tickets.

Hah. What a small world. I just saw Revision play here in Rochester at a bar (to a crowd of about 20) about two weeks ago. They were awesome! Great showmanship, great tunes, and really nice guys. Definitely had a Rustic-friendly vibe about them. I'm buying my tickets to this show on Friday, and I expect it to be doubly fabulous now that we know who the opening band is!

Hmm, the Revision website has this listed for the 9th:
General Clinton Pub 17 General Clinton Plaza Drive Oneonta, NY 13820 607-434-9592
But the Higher Ground website does indeed have them listed for the Rustic show, odd. They do have a nice vibe and will work well as an opener, I'm excited to hear them live.

Listening to Revision now, sounds like a good match for a RO show.

I believe Revision's drummer is from my hometown. Both of their cds are really good and I know that the are huge rustic fans. Sounds like it will be a great show.

Revision is playing at Higher Ground with Rustic on this date....it's on their site now. The Oneonta show must have been canceled to make room for it. This is a really good matchup.
I saw those guys play with Paranoid once and Dave came up on stage and sang Superstition by Stevie Wonder with them....hmmmm

I just bought my ticket. If anyone wants to carpool from Upstate NY or along the way, hit me up. Road trips are always better with company and my friends have different taste in music. Also, if you want to check Revision's live show out, here's my video from when they were here. s158.photobucket.com/albums/t111/sparklingether/Revision/

I noticed that more often than not Aaron Parker (rustic_live@yahoo.com) is the guy taping. Does anyone know him? Has anyone contacted him to see if he still does taping or is going to the show?

Yo, im in plattsburgh, really hoping ill get out to this show if i can find some people to go with, anyone know what a cab from the grand isle ferry into so. burlington is gonna cost me? Just called Yellow Cab for ya and they said it would be $50.25 Their number is 802-862-3300 There is also Benway's 802-862-1010 The both above are out of Burlington You can try Island Cab out of South Hero. They might be cheaper seeing that they're in the neighborhood. their number is 802-372-6551 You could just place your bets that someone on the ferry is going to Burlington and offer to pay them for a ride. HigherGround's right off 89. Just have your friends listen to Rustic and tell them that they are a must see band and they'd be stupid to turn up a deal of $13 adv or $15 show to see Rustic. People in Maine are paying $20 to see a show with no opening band. If you don't have tickets you can go on the HigerGround Web site and have them hold at Will Call so that you get the early price. www.highergroundmusic.com/Well, hope this helps and Good luck to you.

Anyone going to try and tape this show?
Has anyone heard of other shows that might have been taped? I'd really like the Killington Pickle Barrel Show, The Aug. 4th show at the Asylum, and The Maine Lobster fest show.
I would have tried to tape this show, but my recordable MP3 player just crapped out. It's worked great in the past. Just not sure if I'll throw another $180 at another one, just to record this show. Hope someone has a connection that is willing to share shows. Rustic hasn't seemed to mind in the past.

Couldn't find anything Rustic Related on Facebook to promote this show, but did find Revision has created an event for it. Might be a good way to get more people to the show....invite all your VT friends on Facebook! ithaca.facebook.com/event.php?eid=5772959221

Might be a good way to get more people to the show....invite all your VT friends on Facebook! ithaca.facebook.com/event.php?eid=5772959221I've already posted it in the Bulletin section of my myspace page. Of coarse only my friends will see it, but I've got a lot of Burlington friends that I've told about the show. I also posted it on Gatherings of the Vibes, but those people are all just a bunch of GD, Phish, Phil, Ratdog etc... flakes. So, i count them as far off maybe's. I've killed more brain cells then they have. The only problem is that BURTON is throwing down "QUEEN CITY SESSIONS" on ST. Paul St. in Burlington with an after party at Metronome above Nectar's at 9pm. Might keep some people downtown. I know that in the past the Rail Jam Burton holds is stupid and full of people trying to "Gee" off and act like they know somebody. Too much attitude and ingnorance for me. And this from me a Snowboarder for the past 15years and pervious employee of Burton.

I'm trying to recruit any friends I can find. I'll be heading up from CT for the show. I was hoping to tape, but can't get my hands on the gear. I'm in the same boat as Nuphus, can't really spend to cash for a new recorder. Maybe someone can?

I'm driving over from upstate NY to pick up my friends in CT, then heading up to the show. We're probably staying the night so if anyone wants to have coffee/drinks, it'd be fun to meet some board folks. I don't have the cash for recording gear, and I'm more of a photo person anyway. If someone can tape, and is clever with video editing, I'll probably be filming most of it with my digital camera this time, but the audio blows.

Nuphus, yes I know Aaron Parker. He's from Falmouth but has been "off the scene" for a while and doubt he'll be taping Rustic. Someone should though.
I'll be at the show, traveling from Ithaca NY with Revision. I'd love to meet up with some of you at the show.

I posted a Craigslist event for the show a couple of weeks back but who knows who'll actually see it.
I've been trying to find a way of getting this show recorded for weeks and I can honestly say that I've done all I can, to no avail. I'm still hoping that someone, anyone will be taping but it won't be me unfortunately. Up until about a week ago I had a buddy who was going to lend me his laptop so I could install Audacity and bring it to the show and try and get plugged in to the board but then his wife got word of it and freaked out about it being left along while it was recording and he backed out, figures.
Safe trip up here for all the folks traveling, hopefully I'll see some of ya'll at the show.
