I have a laptop and a hookup from my headphone jack to RCA plugs. I'm trying to get ahold of a mic, but havent had luck with that. I have no idea what Im doing, but willing to give it a shot if I can get a mic.

Super geeking it for this show. Traveling from Rockland, Maine to NH to meet with old friends from URI and the then off to Vermont. I heard it is a sweet place for a show. If anyone notices a dude with either a stakes is high T or an obey shirt making a tribute to three feet high and rising, that would be me. If they have PBR that will be what I'm drinking. Hope to see some of the peeps typing here there.

She said "I haven't seen you this excited since the Burlington Discover Jazz Fest this last summer". I think I've listend to every live recording I have twice, this week alone, by now. I love the new HigherGround. Because it use to be an old movie theater and the floor naturally slopes toward the stage. There isn't a bad sight-line in the place. Plus, 2 bars. I'll make sure I ask everyone with a PBR "Are you extracake?" ;D

I used to know Aaron, and a lot of the folks from the old boards. I can't say I'd recognize them today, though. heh. Or even remember most of their names! I'm really excited. I don't know what I'll be wearing, or what I'll be drinking, but I'll be right up front with a camera. I guess it won't hurt anything.. www.myspace.com/fireflyspark is me. Feel free to say hi! My super short friend Nikki will be in tow.

I'll be wearing a black Stihl baseball hat. With any luck I'll have some sort of recording device. Stop by and say hi. -Adam

Bah. I have a friend who went to St. Michaels, I had him convinced to come with me so we could crash at one of his friends' places, but he'll be working. Double-bah that so many forum members will be there, it can be fun to mix it up. I met "Big B" at a PSC show a ways back and had a good time.

Ok, so do I need to start taking notes on what people are going to wear since I'm awful with faces? (though i must say that Myspace is quite helpful in picking people out). This may be the highest percentage of board folks hitting a show outside of Portland, should really be a good time. Please, nobody be shy about saying what's up if you see my lanky ass walking around. I'll most likely be up front-ish with my girlfriend and as uncool as it may sound, possibly even my mother (trust me, if she ends up coming, you'll see her, she rocks out harder than I'd generally prefer). No clue what I'm wearing, but odds are good I'll be rocking a baseball cap of some sort, most likely Redsox or UNH. Myspace - HereSorry to hear things didn't work out Jeff, hopefully there will be other opportunities.

I'll be the marrried guy with 1/4" long hair and a widow's peak. Oh, ya and both ears are pierced. I'll be near the bar, the stage, the sound board, and the bar again.

I'll never remember what anyone's wearing, but if you see me, say hello. I'll probably scare some non-posting people when I wander over and ask them if they're from the boards, but whatever. Hahaha.

My guess is I'll end up standing at the bar looking at people and muttering to my girlfriend "yeah, I think that's ______ from the board" while she rolls her eyes and pretends not to hear me.
We should all wear RLW.com screen name tags.

I'll likely be at Revision's merch booth. Wearing a Rolling Stones track jacket and jeans. Definitely come say hello

Be safe all going to the show. Also those drinkers make sure you've got a D.D. or something. So. Burlington will be out if full force tonight. I'm super giddy for this show right now. Not like it's my first, but I've got a good feeling about this one.
Hope to meet a few of you there.
1hr to go before we get there..........

Had a great time.
Well, I try to record the show, but the sound man siad that if I had gotten there earlier he would have plugged me in. I tried off the MP3 player's mic I have and there's way too much feed back. I'll try in the next couple of days to cleanit up. I still always have issues with HigherGrounds sound guys. Meaning there was a lot of feed back when they're running the sound.
Hope someone else had better luck.

Glad you got the show on tape. Really pumped to hear it.

Great show. I loved the applause when Jon took of his shirt to reveal a Josh Beckett jersey. My one disappointment was that I saw Spencer scribble Dig onto the setlist before the show, but they never played it.

I heard Gutter start to strum it out on the guitar, but I think they went into Love Underground instead. Thanks Crayons for helping me not think that I was crazy for saying it.

Awesome show! I was actually psyched to see so many people turn out as they did. That room is pretty big and I've been to a buch of shows there where it feels really empty and I didn't get that feeling at all last night.
Bummed I didn't run into anybody but we got there just before Revision went on and parked our selves up front center stage so there wasn't much time for walking around. Not quite the energy of the Asylum shows and the crowd was MUCH younger than I would have thought, or liked for that matter but I guess you'll have that at 18+. All in all though a great time and just really nice not to have a long ass drive to dread the whole show.
Thanks again to Hands for the recording (it's in the Media thread for anybody looking for it), still holding out that somebody might have grabbed Check. And that's bullshit about the sound guy Nuphus, why tell you he would have plugged you in "earlier", if he could have done it earlier he could have done it when you got there, he just didn't want to. Thanks for trying.
Pictures uploading now.

It sounds really good so far Hands, nicely done. I like that I can hear some folks doing the na-na-nas on RLW.
Oh, and the lound to silent thing they did on the second chorus on Man Without a Mouth was absolutely NUTS, I may have been the only one who noticed it but good lord!

Hands,
Thanks so much for the work you've done. It did come out great considering the H.G. soundholes. I was a little bummed about the Sting Tones not being there on this trip, but love that you got The Pride of Bayside, Mr. Noyes on Trombone filling in for them on RLW. Everything about the show just brought back how dynamic these guys are when it comes to their talent with their music. Like the brake down in Combustible or the bluesy start to LATE and the cryptic start to Iron Boots and so many other little things they did. It was so great to hear.

Oh yea, Man without a Mouth was off the hook! I had to remind myself several times during combustible and rock like war not to sing when Im 5 feet from the mic haha. I guess I was remembering the first Asylum show where I could barely move when I said I expected it to be fuller.

Major props for holding back the singing, I couldn't do it.
I hear ya on the Asylum gigs, those were damn near dangerous.

Ok, so first I'd like to say that the smoke machine is the absolute nemesis of all concert photography and this show was no exception. You can't use the flash because it reflects off all the smoke in the air and without it you get a blur-fest. To counter that I had to turn the ISO up so the noise is pretty bad but they're better than nothing. I did manage a few good shots so take the good with the really bad. And keep an eye out for yourself in the trademark, Darek crowd shot toward the end. Enjoy!

Get pics Darek. Thanks for them I had the same problem with the smoke so I put the camera away. I can see that being in the front row does have it's advantages....

Adam (handsingloves) is my new hero.
This show, especially the end, was quite a contrast from the other two I've seen. At both of the last two (Asylum and Roxy) Letter to the President was the last song, and while I don't mind ending on a mellow note, the energy of Combustible was excellent.
When Dave came out alone in the spotlight for the encore, I almost thought he was going to play Scarecrow. The first strum he played sounded to me like the first chord of Scarecrow, or is it just that Carnival and Scarecrow have similar notes? I'm no musician.
Anyway, I really loved how Dave started out playing solo and the rest joined in on the chorus. It added some drama.

I'm no musician either but I definitely yelled "Scarecrow, play it Dave!" but to no avail. Somebody else mentioned at a past show he had done the same thing so I'm thinking it's just the start of Carnival sounding like Scarecrow to our untrained (and wishful thinking) ears. Glad I'm not the only one though.

Scarecrow Chords: A C#m D E
Carnival Chords: something like A F#m D E I can't remember off the top of my head.
Really, like the difference of one chord. I remember at one of the acoustic deals this summer some body went up to Dave and was like "this is awesome but I wanted scarecrow!" and Dave said "Well what about Carnival, that's almost like Scarecrow"
So yeah, those two songs are a lot alike in a few ways. Last year at this time I would've given any thing to see Carnival played live, or at all.
