Thought I'd add that for those of us that can't make the show. Right now at 6:50 they have the stream link running. It's playing older Rustic albums. Rooms, Long, Viva, ect......
Note the link will go dead at 7:30 before being uploaded again. So you'll need to hit the log-in again to get the show. Just thought I'd give a heads up to those of you that haven't got their older albums.
(I'll try to update as I go on this recording. So check back)
I picked up when they were playing: Still playing with quality so some will not be full recordings
Feast or Famine
C,mon
Simple Song
Spunk Dive 185
(Just a note that since I've been recording this stream I get some glitches. Meaning that the sound cuts out for a 1/2 second and then back in. I hope this doesn't happen during the show)
C'mon (again)
(they just turned to feed volume down)
Gas on Skin
Love Underground (Viva version)
There is an opener for Rustic tonight. The radio said it, but I missed the name. It just didn't stick in my head. I'll update when They or she or he comes on.
It's Marie Moreshead opening
www.mariemoreshead.com/index.cfmNice folkie stuff
Crash Landing (playing at 7:28pm)
(You're welcome Darek. I'll just keep updating this post only. I should be on top of it. Outside of taking the dogs out and what not.)
Long Division (@7:31pm)
(Lou More is the radio voice)
Ryan and Dave Noyes wrote eleven parts to the rearranged songs so it will be Rustic with eleven other kids. (just for those of you that thought Noyes was never a full member of the band; i.e Ryan and Noyes write most of the arrangements for the band)
Sector Z (Viva version)
Freddie had a Lady (shish)
(Lou talks about the Shish album almost pigeon holding Rustic as Ska, but then goes on to talk about how 20% of the proceeds of the show will go to revitalize the Waterville downtown arts)
Darryl (My Dirt)
Check (I think the cutting in and out is for the sale rights to these songs. Hate to the pirates trying to make a profit)
The Letter (Rooms)
Hardest Way Possible (Rooms; maybe Viva, I can't remember which album the fast version is on without listening to them I think Viva)
Lou says it's Rooms and also says the one album he doesn't have LATE to play? I'll say it for us "OK there Lou. Stop with the Cat Naps!")
My Dirt (My Dirt. Lou said that it might just part of the song. It's 8:00pm right now and Marie Moreshead should be starting soon)
Month and a Half
Doors are closed with Marie Moreshead coming on soon. Lou is playing Rustic lightly in the background until she comes on. It's 8:08pm
Bad Truth
Just announced that after this performance there is going to be a VIP set of both Rustic and Marie and tickets are available across the street after the show. Fuck I wish I had access to this for recording
Marie Moreshead is going on now @ 8:13pm
1. I won't be home
2. Take me to Italy
(just a note; the acoustic sound of Marie is making me geek out and smile from ear to ear for how great Rustic is going to sound later. Water ville Opera House has great sound. Wish I was there, because I'd be the guy with the shit eating grin)
3. Taxi (still glitchie for cutting out for 1/2 second, might be better when MPBN uploads the show to archive)
4. Didn't make it easy (brand new for Marie to play live)
(note: I think the glitch might be because the live stream format is what the Windows Media Player is defaulted to read. I couldn't change it to VLC media player)
5. Daydream (Marie was worried that people wouldn't like her, but Rustic liked her so here she is. I will note that after every song so far she is polite by saying "Thank you" during the crowds applause)
6. ? ( she only notes that she's not playing her guitar, but doesn't announce this song. It might be "I don't want to" or "Save me before I do")
(two more left Marie says)
7. I love how...
(Marie hopes that she'll see some of you at the VIP show after and notes that "ALL THE COOL KIDS ARE GOING" ;D
8.Only rearrange (Marie says Thank you so much at the end)
Radio Break......
Rustic on it 20 mins. Someone from the staff heard that Lou didn't have the LATE album. I hope they added "You Dumb Fuck" when they handed it to him. He notes that we'll probably hear this one during the show.
Letter to the President
(I'm not going to record until the show at 9pm, but I'll still update what's played)
Trouble some
Rock Like War
Lights just went on and off so there was a fade out of Rock Like War
All eleven of the kids selected for this show are from the Central Maine area. So this really highlights the whole area. Lou said that the whole show will be uploaded late tomorrow or Monday.
Hardest Way Possible (LATE version)
With one last smoke
Rustic Overtones Started @ 8:59pm
With lots of cheers and something playing in the background I think Rustic just took the stage at 9:00 ( think it's the same theme music that we've all experience as of late)
9:01 they have taken the stage with Dave asking to please remain setted. (something with the Bunny?)
1. THE LETTER (Holy shit this makes me smile)
2. Hardest Way Possible (better than all album recordings I have)
rumor about the Speakeasy around the corner from Gutter
3. Gas on Skin (so funky to even discribe to you)
4. Love Underground (fucking awesome version I've ever heard Ryan's sax sounds so pure it's too hard to explain)
Gutter says that this is special in some kind of way. Maybe it's because you're sitting down. Some girl asked "Can you play Scarecrow". Gutter replys "Can you?" ;D The whole crowd laughs. Then it's mentioned that Gutter is playing someone elses guitar with rainbows and unicorns. And it's stated that Gutter hates unicorns.
5. Letter to the President (slower then the LATE version and with a chorus on the verse)
(some kind of hum going on in the recording. Mentioned that "President" was for Gallery? who's in the war and for everyone else there.
6. Troublesome ( Dave's got a little rasp in his voice like he needs water. It's not the typical rasp little worried he's gettting sick)
7. Man without a mouth (great violin beginning and piano with horns) Great version I must say
8. Crash Landing (Insane is all I have to say (one of my favs) There was a glitch on this one. Hope that the uploaded archive is better)
Dave says that they're doing older ish. This one they haven't done in ten years or so. Talking about the rags were from good will so not to use the rags to wipe sweat or you might get a rash.
9. Baby Blue (when I heard this I almost shit, but I'm at home so it's ok. Holy Fuck are the Horns HOT on this)
Gutter sayds that kids in this area are the only musicians that they can keep up with. And that hey have the cream of the crop
10. Oxygen (with a little Seasame 12345678910, 11,12, to start it) The sound is awesome must hear.
Gutter states that his is the first show of it's kind and bummed that he can't smash his guitar. "Wait for it".
11. Rock Like War (this will be a must have recording for anyone. This just puts another level to the Rock Like War song)
Gutter sending happy holidays to everyone and a happy birthday to Jay's girlfriend.
12 Happy (it's only 9:55pm might be a short show with the VIP after Horns sound great with a glitch at the solo of Ryan)
Dave says "You guys have a Happy New Year. Thank you very much"
The crowd is going wilder then I saw at my last Asylum show. It's great to hear.
With a little laughing when they come out
13. This song went out to Roffie? Dave said that he pesonally wanted to thank Ryan and Dave Noyes for making the punk rock songs that they love sound so nice
Feast or Famine (with a glitch on my widows media player)
great break down with the piano and horns. I'm hoping that thie MPBN release won't have the glitches on it. This song was another one of the must haves.)
Crowd: "Now play Scarecrow" "Play something Good" Dave said that he wants to now play something bad. It was all too good. Long talk into the speak easy after the show.
14. Carnival (great start to an amazing song. Actually the best version of this song I've heard yet)
15. LIGHT AT THE END (Bringing a smile to my face and it isn't even finished yet) Got to love the Ryan added sols over the horns at the end. The end has a clap for the young violins that just kicks ass. Bakc to Horns and everyone that just explode to the ending. Then back to the violins and horns with the violins ending with claps to the beat from the crowd.
This is then end of the broadcast from NUPHUS (and Gutter says 'Thank you guys. See you next year") Just to add the the fun. VIP show on Silver street at the Speak Easy. Lou More says that their going to try and grab their recording equipment and record the VIP set as well.
Good NIGHT!
